  1. IT is now 59% sales on Movietickets. I honestly think Fandango box meter is better because you can see what and how fast the tickets are selling - compare it to how fast tickets were selling for another movie 2 days before realse.. Whereas on Movetickets the % could just be really high because there's really no other movie people are buying tickets for, which is probably the case right now with how dry the box office is.
  2. IT has officially been certified fresh, and it's holding pretty steady at 90%. I honestly wasn't expecting higher then 75%. Anyone have any stats on horror movies and RT ratings? I'd love to see how this compares. https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/it_2017
  3. IT now at 50% on Movietickets. I'm thinking the positive reviews helped quite a bit to push presales even further.
  4. http://variety.com/2017/film/news/it-stephen-king-movie-box-office-1202548791/ This part is why you can't compare this to the general horror movies, I know so many people personally that don't watch horror but are going to watch this movie because of the coming of age aspect: It’s not just King’s involvement that’s stoking interest. Seventy three percent of respondents said they saw the 1990 TV mini-series with Tim Curry as Pennywise. The film is also reaching out beyond a core group of gore-fest diehards. Just over half of ticket buyers, some 57% of those polled, identify themselves as true horror fans.
  5. Proceed with caution on the RT score, it's currently 23/23, but so was Annabelle Creation.. and it ended up at around a 70%. If IT even ends up at 80% that is above my expectation, I was expecting a near Annabelle score.
  6. Also 50-75% on Fandango Box office meter. They don't give you the number but if you look at the sales long enough - in every 20 sales, about 10-15 is IT. This is my first time tracking a movie this intensely so I honestly don't know what these numbers mean. For all I know this could be normal for movies with a $50M OW.
  7. I've been predicting around a 70% on RT but idk.. how much will it be affected if we end up with a 55-60%? I don't see it going lower then that.. that would be disastrous, infact 60 would already be pretty disastrous. Lowest I'll say is ~55%.
  8. IT is currently #1 on Movietickets with 16.5% sales in the last 24 hours. It's been steadily increasing, it was 13% about 5 hours ago. I'm not sure how other movies look few days before release, is this normal? UPDATE 1:45PM EST. IT is now 18.3% on Movietickets.
  9. I liked Finn in Stranger things, and I'm sure he did a good job here but I can't help but think that there is some bias when people choose him as the stand out actor in the kids. He's the most well known, and his acting in Stranger things was great, so it's easy to pick him. It also helps that the character Richie Tozier is so well written and developed. IMO the girl playing Bev is going to blow the fuck up.
  10. Yeah that shit got me confused as hell. There's also this pattern where movies are quite scattered during the day, but during the night time IT just starts dominating like crazy. This has been the case since at least the past week - when I started checking.
  11. How does the Fandango Box Office meter work? Is it live sales?
  12. Yeah at this point one thing is for certain - they did not fuck up child actors, which imo is the key to how well this movie will be received, especially for the newer generations who've been exposed to Stranger Things. Out of the dozens of reviews I've seen on the internet and heard from mutuals who've been to an advanced screening I've yet to hear someone say a single child performance was bad, and the most stand out performance has been a toss between Ben/Bev/Bill/Richie, while the other two Mike/Stan haven't been praised as much, but admittedly they have the least screentime and lack of character development so it's expected. I've still seen most RT predictions to be around 70-75% which is pretty low considering the positive reviews from critics we've received thus far.
  13. I live in the heart of Toronto - downtown, which I think is much different than outskirts since Toronto used to be just one big area and the presales for movies that do well in US usually has a lot of buzz here too, in downtown.
  14. I checked this morning around 6 hours ago and it wasn't in top 5 so it emerged after that.
