Saw First Man and Bad Times at the El Royale on Wednesday night.
i liked First Man fine.....didn’t love it, it kinda left me cold.
I’m not surprised the WOM isn’t stronger, the theater was silent when the movie ended, no applause in a theater with about 150 people in it.
It’s well made, and it keeps your interest, but while Gosling did a fine job of capturing how Armstrong supposedly was as a person, it doesn’t make him a very interesting lead character in a movie.
Bad Times at the El Royale, however, was fantastic.
It surprised me, i wasn’t able to guess all the twists, I teared up towards the end, my friend who went with me was more hyped for First Man going in, but Bad Times won him over, decent applause at the end.
i didn’t even think it was too long, it keeps your interest the whole way, and I hope it has a good hold this weekend, it deserves better.

The main issue with Royale is the similarity to Hotel Artemis, which already tanked, as well as the fact that it’s apparently a very different movie from what the trailer indicates.

Venom lost premium screens to First Man so it's hold will be aggravated a little.
17's a bad ow for First Man. Would need 3.3x multi to beat Gravity's ow.
At Disney Springs, they bumped Venom off all the prime auditoriums, First Man has the Dolby and the 500+ seater, and as for the 300+ seaters, one is ASIB and the other is split between GB2 in the daytime and El Royale in the evening.

Oh my god, A Star Is Born
That was incredible. Two songs in particular, very emotional. Great performances from both.
Edit: this was with an American audience, three girls in front were talking loudly at first but soon kept quiet after we told them to shut up 😂
Well, Gaga has one Oscar sewn up for Song at least, but if Bradley Cooper doesn’t win something it will be an actual crime.

I saw ASIB at Disney Springs today, and they seemingly added several shows today, because it was in a bunch of odd auditoriums they don’t normally put new movies.
they didn’t add any venom because it already had the biggest auditoriums

over the the current threads there is a create a topic button that will the topic in whichever sub-forum you are in.
The only button I see is the one next to my name near the top, where there is a pull down.

Only 7.7M for MI-F 4 day weekend? RN made 9.4M.
215M is in danger
If memory serves, there was one weekend around this time where they were doing BOGO tickets for Rogue Nation.
Fallout hasn’t had to resort to that.

You can make threads. Where are you having trouble doing so?
When I pull down the create topic thing, the only section it will let me make a topic in is Direct to VOD, every other section is unclickable

I don’t know where else to ask...
are we not allowed to make threads?

Not getting Black to return is a death knell, especially since he is arguably as big a draw as ever after Jumanji, which he was the best part of.

I do think Sony should be slightly worried about Venom, it could potentially open in second place now.

Searching is selling very well at Disney Springs.
As for my theater, Kin hasn't moved at all since this morning 🤔
I also looked at the Orlando area theatres, for Friday night, the 6-8 corridor.
At Pointe Orlando, Searching, Kin and Operation Finale has sold zero tickets for that time period, meanwhile, the Iron Man 3 in the IMAX has sold 25 tickets.
Searching seems to be doing less well at the other area theaters, but I did see that Disney Springs gave Searching the BIG theater, the 580+ seat one.

I preferred Deadpool 2 to Infinity War, I was more entertained.
My favourite worst box office prediction of all time from a box office website was The-Numbers predicting $15m opening weekend for Freddy Vs Jason and a $35m total. it opened to $36m.
I remember the old game Fantasy Moguls, they had a seasonal draft system, I picked Wild Hogs in the 6th round, they predicted a total gross of $35 million, it beat that opening weekend.

You have to be joking.
That movie was so bad, it retroactively made another movie worse.
