How so? If Avatar is out December 2017, F8 comes out April 2017.
Meant to say Avatar 2 is far more likely to make $500mil then FF8 IMO due to various factors.

China will slow down soon but will still will have big growth in the next 2 years for me $500 mil is possible for ff8 in China but unlikely and Avatar 2 will get to that mark first!

we're witnessing the peak in the super hero genre. its all downhill from here and will eventually go the way of the western
LOL Far to early to say that the Supehero genre has produced hit after hit mostly in the last 7 years and TA 2 will be another huge hit so no end in sight for the SH genre continued domination of the box office in the near future IMO.

People are offended by everything now. There's nothing racist about what he said. Spanish isn't a race, it's a language. If he said it about a native German speaker using a second language no one would bat an eye, especially since it was compliment.
If we're talking offensive the use of the phrase "cultural genocide" in regards to movies is pretty fucking offensive to real cultural genocide that's occurred and is still occurring.
I agree 100% as a minority myself I think minorities take offence to easily and rather then getting upset we should work hard and be successful rather then constantly playing the victim and using it as an excuse! Of course many racist incident's go on across the world but the PC brigade try and find it in everything these day's.

China is an expanding market though. However impressive FF7's gross there may be a top 3 of all time DOM gross for TA1 was still more impressive imo.
True in a few years FF7 may drop out of top 3 all time in China Avengers will be top 3 dom for a few years more yet at least IMO.

That was not nice. he was trying to make a witty retort to inniratu's comments against SH movies but fell flat on his face. But I see it prominently on twitter already. He better apologize quickly.
I agree think he was trying to be funny but it will offend people who are sensitive on racial issues a very silly thing for a big name actor to say!

In SK, TA2 will beat FF7 in admissions and gross by Sunday. Potential gap between the 2 could be as much as 70M in that market.

France and I think most of europe. Wait for weekend numbers to release and we can do the comparison. I think its close between both. F7 had mexico while AOU has Russia. But Korea is so big that AOU will win OW battle for sure.
FF7 is bigger in Europe except from the UK AOU has opened a lot bigger in my backyard lol. Will be close but SK AOU win's by a mile so will effect it.

It is opening on May 12th. What I meant is that May 12th is a Tuesday I believe. So that "first weekend" will actually be most of a week. Also, Iron Man 3 opened to over $64M in its first 5 days in China, so the chance of AoU opening to only $50M in 6 days is non-existant.

Mexico is a much bigger market right now than Russia and lots of smaller markets adds up : Malaysia, Thailand, Spain, Venezuela, Chile, Columbia, Ecuador, Thailand etc
Especially for FF7 it has done huge business in Mexico.

Can't be sure yet but TA2 is ahead in the UK, SK and Brazil for sure all big market's

If AoU hits $200M this weekend overseas, than a complete rollout would have been well over $300M. China's opening on a Tuesday I believe, so I would imagine that AoU's take there through Sunday will pretty close to $100M, if not higher.
I thought China's release date was May 12th? Either way China would of added bare minimum 50 million to this figure.
Chinese love destruction movies. This movie will do 250 mil in China.

There are only 3 main markets to A2 be released, just like when F7 was released, the rest are small markets.
Still opening stronger then FF7 in most market's TA2 would of opened to more if in exact same market's no doubt.

Number actually is very impressive. It's beating TA1 even in Europe where the Exchange rates are the worst. If it had a complete roll out than we would be looking at over 300M, probably close to 350M.
Yh it is a huge number even in places with awful exchange rates at the moment like Russia it is doing huge business.

AOU is opening in 55% this weekend how much did TA open in?
F7 opened to higher, but was it in more countries?
I think FF7 had a lot more big market's so hard to compare.

that is why i do not engage in any conversation in this forum about a good or a bad movie,just come for the number,u have your own taste but some people like bkb,noctis or water so blindly hating or loving a film,they keep acting so immature
I do try as well most of the time to ignore them but sometimes it get's to much for me lol!

I don't dispute it's high reception among audiences and critics but I'm still bemused by it which is my point. Also in terms of Allocine the disparity in critical avg for it between IM and TWS as opposed to say RT is rather large and they have IM2 and TWS about rated the same with TDW above AOU. Critical reception is not consistent not only between critics but between countries etc. For AOU in the UK most reviews from major sources have been 4/5 (Times, Guardian, Telegraph, Empire, Radio Times etc) It's all also skewed by sample size - 20 critics vs 200.
All the big media sources have given it good review's so is fine there.
