  1. It has an overwhelming positive word of mouth and an A cinema score Even with all that, it's not appealing to certain people, 6-8% of the audience who went to see it opening weekend were African American, That's not good at all & it's a shame because it's a damn good movie, maybe we don't deserve good movies What a big drop means? all the people who are already fans of the franchise went to see it last week, some will return this week but it's not attracting other people's interest .... So disappointing, Del Toro has a deal with DreamWorks and i was hoping they would assign him to develop a new HTTYD in a different era because the world of HTTYD is already there and there could be other characters in other parts of the world but ....
  2. MCKillswitch123 Yeah Minions were funny in the first Despicable Me but they milked them to every last drop in the second but it worked for them & The thing is? the HTTYD could've ended up like the Minions believe it or not, before director Dean Deblois arrive at the project He said the people working before him were struggling to adapt the children books, & DreamWorks weren't happy with the story, They were never given green light, the dragons design was taken straight from the books, small little parrots that Hiccup put on his shoulder just like the minions Glad they didn't stick with that trash even though i think it would've been more funny, goofy & cartoony & maybe would've made more money
  3. Agree, everyone knows the illumination movies are for kids, just forgettable & they never get nominated for Oscars HTTYD is a rare animated trilogy, it can almost work as a live action adaptation, I hope Universal take a chance in the next 10 years with a fantastic script, great cast & a director who knows how to adapt the children books into a heartfelt saga this could really work not a 4th HTTYD animated in the next 5-6 years with new characters which will make $50m or less & no one goes to see it ...
  4. With an "A" rating on Cinemascore & a very positive word of mouth $170-180m is likely The HTTYD movies are marathon runners considering their low opening weekends
  5. The box office is in a slump since the start of the year let's be honest $55m is a franchise "best" for How to Train Your Dragon ( terrible titles, marvelous movies by the way ) When you consider that the Sat $22.5m is the 1st time a HTTYD movie makes $20m+ in a single day you really get the picture, WOW Why there isn't big draw? I'll tell you why, it needs to be goofy with pop culture cheap humor & songs, no one cares about how a pet dragon helped a boy complete his coming-of-age story, it's written off, That's why the HTTYD saga doesn't get the crowd draw it absolutely deserves, because of it's sincere story telling ...
