But i want to see that on a big screen too!! Like specifically THAT...biggest screen possible! Do i need to see saoirse and timmothy chalamet walking on a sidewalk in chicago there for 10 bucks tho? Big screen sets a certain mood i admit(same for all movies tho with same ticket price), but between high ticket prices and sometimes pretentious distractions like arthouse cinema, all the while the world is slowly burning, for me its easier to criticize _them_, than pure escapism like godzilla or SH genre.. but in the end its essentially the same so both sides are like little caged lab rats with a ribbon.. Days of pretentios filmloving elistists are over!! XD Everyone has access to everything.. no more gatekeeping..Why and how that happened? Internet! ..because we know what you are and how you operate...there is nowhere to hide now when there are 7 kinds of subspecies of humans all revealed on social media.. what? You going to invent warm water? Let go of that anchor of ego, accept spectacle is spectacle and try to enjoy it.. if not try to understand those people you see running around on basketball courts, beaches, schools or malls really prefer big epic distractions than small pretentious ones .. thats how it is.. Not nice^^... the only way i would want that to happen is if aladdin made astonishing 70m 2nd week and godzilla came in at 69m so the headlines would boost both as the closest/highest weekend finish ever(havent watched either yet tho:/ )... also, obviously we wouldnt want those two gobbling up rocketman, ma and the holdovers..oh what a wishfull wonderfull world this would be^^ TTVOMJ

The Box Office Buzz and Tracking Thread: Electric Boogaloo

I kinda agree for the last 15 years or so(since shrek 2 happened), but they cant hear you:( TTVOMJ -
I am not so sure about SH.. specially MCU.. they just bought x men and ff4 and not even bothering with them for next couple of years(eternals will be huge, ds2 as well)...star wars will be huge enough for disney(maybe not 500+ dom, but whats wrong with 100m budgeted 200m domestic performers?), combined with all other cash cows they own, they can all underperform and still be bigger thab anything else(just might not be as big as 2015-2019, EXCEPT secret wars^^ and AVEDAR 2 3 4 5^^).. I see you being sad these days because of this underperformance, but i ask you based on the fact you liked it and trailers i saw; what else can top 3v1 monster mash from kotm? I guess you can count other monsters, but this really IS the biggest godzilla movie you could get(except just slapping name kong onto its sequel, but even this is questionable because of size comparison not unlike BvS)..we dont need more godzilla if this one turns out as epic as trailers depict... what else is there? Going to watch it soon(not a fanboy of puppet theater japanese films with cardboard buildings, loved the epic 1998 godzilla, g2014 was fairly well done 6.5/10)... TTVOMJ

No..we first met in film school.. they were my class mates:) They loved both and rooted for bollywood alot.. but you could see correlations and familar pattern connected to pushing it too far.. people's eyes squirm/change..cant wait for a 24/7 intwrnal lie detector with red flags for everyone to see^^ TTVOMJ

I lived with 9 bombay guys and 1 bangalore girl... not at the same time, but thru my film life in prague/barcelona.. and i cant understand 2 things about indian guys xD they are such huge geeks you can talk to them about anything, BUT WTF is with their love for that crappy bollywood cinema except nostalgia?xD 2nd.. they dont treat women nicely😢 TTVOMJ

Fair analogy... but g2014 didnt have that? I am worried kotm might end up being that, but based on critics and word of mouth action is where it does deliver...Also... watching a movie once can be enjoyable(6-7/10 grade) even if it doesnt have much replay value(BvS, man of steel, endgame(last scene yeah yeah), potc:worlds end, even inception(dont kill me its a masterpiece, but i can only rewatch it if i am watching it with someone who hasnt seen it so i can discover it all over again thru their eyes, simmilar to how and why all of these movies i counted still have value). that has to be weighed in as well.. ofc grade rises with rising replay value, but you cant tell me memento isnt a 9-10/10 just because its un rewatchable without masochistic tendencies xD taste and translating it to other people needs careful nuanced approach and message boards can easily lose translation.. just look at how all of you react when reading this hehe ... jk TTVOMJ

It had an auteur touch... here where i live and where we arent(at least back then) so influenced by pre hype(more of a jaded wom kinda cinema country) noone disliked godzilla, but noone said its a masterpiece... it was a nice introduction into a world where godzilla can be vulnerable.. and it looked gorgeous.. i seriously didnt expect aaron taylor johnson to be important..i care for decent storytelling as well, but in some instances, like giant monster movies like jw it isnt needed as much, tho if it elevates the material all the better(even meg -dont kill me:'( )... there are exceptions where the bar is set so low even 3 t rex vs kong or giant robots or even a vulcano dino horror house cant save the convulsion.. i am just hoping godzilla has enough in it to not be overwhelming with action and with just enough of a crescendo to keep one upping itself... i dont know how hard humans have to f up for me to not like it the same or even more than g2014.. then there are other kind of exceptions like jaws or jurrasic park.. perfect popcorn movies that elevated everything in cinema TTVOMJ
