Being 100% honest, the sales for this are looking similar to Shazam 2 here in my city in Brazil (and I live in one of the biggest cities in the country). I think it will gross more than Shazam 2 ($3.5M) but will struggle to surpass Black Widow ($6.6M), The Flash ($7.6M), Blue Beetle ($8.1M) and maybe even Birds of Prey ($5.8M) and Suicide Squad ($4.5M). I literally counted 28 tickets sold for all previews here in my city, which is abysmal (and the rest of the weekend doesn't look better).

The first movie grossed $38.2M in Brazil and $33.3M in Mexico, so I'm saying this because I'm genuinely shocked 💀

It will flop big time in LATAM. I'm curious about Europe.

If a superhero movie doing bad in LATAM,it will bad everywhere, because Superhero is such a religion in LA and Southeast Asia

EU doesn’t have Superhero fever that much,Harry Potter is way more popular

Still think OS may prevent that. But yeah definitely below solo for me as things stand right now  and it's taking the Alice in wonderland crown.

The only thing that can save this is WOM. Otherwise it's so dead in the water.

At this rate even a 400-450mish finish while still being a flop  would just be a boring . " It could have been worse"  number.

    Sales are just fucking abysmal.

    OS?

How about we talking Mexico.A country which Marvel movie beat all time B.O record 6 times, and The Marvels doing less than 10% of The Flash presale in Mexico.

Don’t expect China,I’ll be impressed if the movie doing $15m in China.

OS $150m is the current prediction

Arrogance would be my guess, from both the Disney suits and Marvel alike. The period from Infinity War to Endgame was full blown Marvel fever, a time where everything with that iconic red rectangle was an instant money printer. Hell, even the unrelated Venom was a smash hit just by being connected to the Marvel brand and lucky enough to have been released right in the middle of that period. That period must have boosted their collective confidence to unrealistic levels, and facilitated the massive content overdrive we've seen since Disney+ launched. Unfortunately that must've spread Marvel thin and been to the detriment of any individual project's own merits, and now we're seeing the consequences of that in full display with Guardians 3's underwhelming opening and The Marvels' abysmal tracking, as well as the ongoing overhaul of their television arm. If you burn audiences enough times, they'll simply stop going, especially in an era where they are more fickle and critical than ever. This current saga is a lost cause, but hopefully they'll be able to rebuild after Secret Wars, assuming it still gets made.

If Marvel Continue be like this Avengers V global total box office will be lower than Endgame OW

  4. Mexico is Marvel Nation

Is the country which love Marvel more than almost everywhere,on par with Phillippines,Singapore etc.

A shit quality Marvel movie will enter top 5 of year in Mexico,Mexico spoil Marvel like Marvel is the nation’s own childern.

If a Marvel movie performance suck in Mexico,we can certainly said it will performence suck in every markets.

  5. The most impossible thing is  All Avengers movie combined view is not even higher than The Lord of the ring:The Fellowship of the ring(over 25 million views)

TLOR 1 got nearly 10 million views on its first month,All Avengers combined not reach 10 million.

As I mentioned before, most of bilibili’s 300 million users are kids, student, high school student etc.Young people.the user’s average age is 20+ years old,82% of user are GenZ,which means when movie TLOR ended, most of Bilibili user are just born at that time or not even born, and they experience the greatest days of the Avengers, logically Avengers got extremely huge advantage on bilibili, but the movie just doing terrible number.

I doubt if Avengers 5 even able to do ¥1 billion in China.

ps:Even James Bond movie got way higher view than Avengers on Bilibili.. NTTD bigger than All Avengers combined.Endgame view just on par with Casino Royale,Thor is just little bit higher than Moonraker,a 1979 movie…

  6. A strong prof that Marvel Popularity down a great margin in China:

Avengers/MCU movie is on Bilibili now,(For person who never heard of the app.Bilibili is Chinese Youtube with over 300 million monthly actuve user and especially popular with Young Generation)

And Here is the view of each Avengers movie(it’s land on Oct and already exist for 1 month, usually most of view happened in first month)

    The Avengers 2.3 millions

    AOU 1.68 millions

    AIW 1.85 millions

    Endgame 2.35 millions

This is extremely low number,if you don’t have concept how low this number is:

    For comps:

Harry Potter series got over 210 millions view on Bilibili,”The Philosopher stone” alone got over 55 millions ,as a reminder,Harry Potter already end for 10 years,it’s still attract new generation in China, even today’s kids.

Well. This is maybe not a fair comparison since HP is free on Bilibili while each Avengers Movie need cost $0.5 to buy.

Here is another comp:Tobey Maguire Spiderman(which also need $0.5 to buy)

    Spider-Man:18.85 million

    Spider-Man 2 :4.89 million

    Spider-Man 3:7.4 million

Even Spider-Man:Across the Spider Verse got 17 million and it’s need ti cost $1 to buy it.

Even “The Lord of the Rings” series  got 45 million views, and this movie series was ended at 2003,Bilibili is not even exist at that time!

Even Zack’s Justice League got over 50 million views !

So maybe it’s the sad truth ,but I think Avengers is not that popular in China anymore.

COVID is definitely the reason for DS being so insane a few years ago. It’s not just a coincidence that the whole country is on lockdown in their homes and suddenly an anime TV show that’s new and easily accessible blows up bigger than any ever has there. I think this is evident in the fact that peak covid 2020-2021 era was clearly the peak of that franchise popularity there as well, and I can’t imagine it will ever be able to replicate that again.

This is like saying without WB movie Harry Potter wouldn’t be popular..

Demon Slayer already achieved insane success in manga sale before Mugen train, think about all great anime come up in your mind first, whatever Attack on Titan,Naruto,DBZ,One piece, whatever it is,DS just crush them all in Japan on its glory days

Wonder how much it could do in China if released. Taylor is huge there.

Indeed She it’s huge but limited to the group that obsessed with western music, not a lot of people care about/or even heard among average Joe,Michael Jackson is the only western singer that almost everybody know in China.

Besides,At current point Chinese low interest for all western stuff(even Apple 15 released didn’t lead any hype),I don’t think it will make some impressive number,if her fans passion like religion then maybe could do $20m.

Anyway Taylor is very talented singer and I enjoy her song when I was like 15 years old, hope it does over $100m OS

    All-Time Top Grossers ~ Thailand

    1. Marvel/Disney's "Avengers: Endgame" - ฿‎1,234M
    2. GTH's "Pee Mak" - ฿‎1,196M
    3. Marvel/Disney's "Avengers: Infinity War" - ฿‎778M
    4. Universal's "Furious 7" - ฿‎774M
    5. Disney's "Avatar: The Way Of Water" - ฿‎748M
    6. GTH's "I Fine..Thank You..Love You" - ฿‎652M
    7. SFI's "The Legend of Suriyothai" - ฿648M
    8. Universal's "The Fate of the Furious" - ฿642M
    9. Marvel/Disney's "Captain America: Civil War" - ฿622M
    10. Paramount's "Transformers: Age of Extinction" - ฿616M

Notably, I couldn't track any record beyond 2000, but "The Legend Of Suriyothai" was all-time No.1 back in 2001 with ฿648M, then "Pee Mak", the 1st ฿1000M Film in Thailand, later in 2019, "Avengers: Endgame" became 2nd Film &Only Imported Release to break ฿1000M. But, look a bit back to 2001, James Cameron Masterpiece's "Titanic" did 1/3 of "The Legend Of Suriyothai" (฿648M) i.e. ฿216M ~ All Time No.1 back than until 2001.

Is Jurassic Park-Titanic-The Legend of suriyothai
