That's really interesting. Sometimes I wonder what studios are after with experiments like that. Given what I know about Resurrections (a few snippets, mostly), there's probably only so much you can do editorially short of adding a clumsy narration or something similarly awkward. Much of what makes the film potentially unwelcoming to newcomers seems like it would be more or less baked in at this point. Maybe it's to develop a marketing approach for people unfamiliar with the IP? I suppose enough time has passed that a not-so-insignificant portion of the audience will have only experienced The Matrix through memes.

That shot really stood out to me - and not in a good way. 1) The WW1984 vibes are real (not that it's a huge deal). 2) Whatever they're doing vfx-wise with the face looks like it's straight out of a video game cutscene (hopefully they clean it up a bit for release). 3) It gives me "final shot" vibes - an unfortunate trend in a couple of recent trailers. Haven't read the book in years and have no idea where they're splitting, so could be wrong.
