Will you have everything in the first post so we don't have to scroll through the entire thread? Please and thanks.

That clip sums up everything that has been wrong with this franchise since Jurassic World. Look at the movie theater scene - it is all revealed and done with in about 70 seconds, instead of taking the time to slowly build tension, have people get uncomfortable, and then commence with the action. Look at the difference between the footsteps in the puddle and where we are now. Just night and day in terms of building tension and suspense.
True but also, building lots of tension to reveal something we've seen time and time again for the past 28 years won't work either. I do agree it looks sloppily directed/edited, though.

King Richard feels a bit misguided and I wonder if that affected its bo performance. I get that the Williams sisters signed off and all, but they could still be wrong about the best way into the movie. When you watch the real-life footage of the girls, and suddenly it cuts to the title KING RICHARD!, it certainly feels misguided.

A bit corny but I liked it.
Can ya'll pls add a Spencer review thread? I want to tear into that bore. -

I have not seen it in ages but I remember it fondly. Double Fonda and Hepburn. Great performances.
Jane Fonda ROCKED the box office in 1980 and 1981 as actress and producer one last time with "9 to 5 "and "On Golden Pond" before revolutionizing the fitness and VHS industries, and then retiring.

That's a very good year. Very nice suite of films in top 10. Maybe The Four Seasons which I haven't seen, I think, is the least interesting/special on the list. I think I haven't seen On Golden Pond either but looks interesting. All else are worth watching and almost all to re-watch. Maybe Superman II after the first one was a downer that not interested in revisiting anytime soon. My weekend picks would be:
Indy, Cannonball Run & Chariots of Fire
and for the next weekend Bond, Arthur & Time Bandits
On Golden Pond is about two geriatric people and their grandson and it's definitely better than any movie I've seen this year.

LOL ... the fights in the replies

Enough good stuff here to recommend the movie, but it loses its focus as it goes, with repetitive scenes that don't build on each other like in the meticulously crafted Black Swan. B-

Also, Chris Evans losing sexiest man alive to Paul Rudd because Paul Rudd was promoting this movie is complete bullshit. Not worth it. You might’ve promoted Ghostbusters, People, but what did you actually do?
Sexiest Man Live and World's Most Beautiful is as outdated as People Magazine itself.

Does the Rock have chemistry with ANYONE? He has this weirdly asexual vibe, reminiscent of Will Smith but worse. When I was watching the Mummy rip-off called The Jungle Cruise, I kept thinking about that seeing him with Emily Blunt, and their lack of sparks compared to Brendan Frasier and Rachel Weisz. Anyway, needless to say, Red Notice is horrible because I couldn't get past the first 15 minutes.

I've always said that Gucci and West Side Story are the barometer for adults coming back to theaters at all, but at this point I don't see either above 50.
Gucci seems to be getting a mixed/negative critical reception which will affect box office. This may be due in part to the fact that actress-worshipping critics (who are very vocal on Twitter) have selected Spencer as their movie to support this year. Last year it was Promising Young Woman. They seem to relate more to movies where women are victimized.- 1

Every franchise gets one shot at a reboot and they need to get it right in that first shot or audiences won't return.
Terminator saw this happen with Genisys killing off Dark Fate before that movie was even conceived. Dark Fate didn't have many things to differentiate it's marketing from Genisys. Ghostbusters seeing that now with GB2016 being the one that should have done the "legacy sequel" thing.
Still weird that Sony made legacy sequels for Jumanji, Men in Black, and even Charlie's Angels but the one franchise which needed to be a legacy sequel was a complete reboot.
Admittedly the Jumanji sequel was fun and in many ways superior to the original. But Ghostbusters is not only great, it's a very specific tone that is difficult to recapture. It's kid-friendly but it's not a movie for kids per se. It's a horror comedy special effects hybrid that had no reason to work the way it did, and it's hard to make it work again.

More like 2016 version leave a scar on the brand and dilute the novelty of the "coming back". 2016 version was not a terrible movie but the controversy and the politic surrounding the movie was so toxic that it impair the brand goodwill. Much like Terminator TDF, all terrible sequels have permanently hurt the subsequent attempt of revival no matter how they tried.
More like Ghostbusters is great but let's leave it in 1984.

Wow King Richard bombed. Dramas are dead. Trash in theatres and quality on TV it is from now.

For those who've seen it, is the move as try-hard as its title?

Oh I disagree. It’s the best film performance I’ve seen all year. No one is topping Kate Winslet in Mare of Easttown, but that was TV.
Kristen gives a 5 star performance in a 3 star film, IMO.
Oh yeah, Kate Winslet in Mare EATS Kristen and everyone else alive.

Spencer flopping as expected.
People predicting huge numbers for that gucci movie Lol
Spencer flopping is no surprise. It's a slog with Kristen Stewart whispering in a wig (Americans resort to whispering when it comes to accents since they can't do them) and never for one second making you believe she's Diana. Only the DP deserves praise.

Belfast opening PTA is so much better than Spencer although Spencer look more accessible by marketing. Spencer debut scale was a bit too wide and too fast.
KStew is total box office poison outside of Twilight. Snow White & The Huntsman did well but that was sold on Charlize's Evil Queen character. Everything else has bombed.

Anyone on Awards Watch and see Erick Anderson going on a tirade? He's blasting Gaga and her fans, adding that apparently all his critic friends hate the film and we should "prepare ourselves."
I don't know if I buy all that. I don't think the reviews for this film will be impressive, but I can't it getting panned. I mean, David freakin' Ehrlich said he enjoyed the film. Isn't he a respected film critic? Idk. I have seen far more positive word of mouth from bloggers, critics and voters than negative reviews.
I think the gay Madonna fan critics like Erik are fully Team Kristen this year. They consume their camp through RuPaul but prefer their cinema to be understated, elegant. Queen of just staring coldly while she acts, Isabelle Huppert, is their idol.

They also bought back Star Wars, Star Trek, AND Mission Impossible (with the guy from Rain Man). They’ve got a live action Clifford The Big Red Dog out now too. It’s CRAZY.Did they reboot MI again with like Will Smith in 2008 after the 2006 instalment underperformed compared to the previous one? And then after that had run its course, reboot it again with Chris Pratt in like 2015?

Is NEON hiding Spencer's Friday number? Just wait until theatres are past their two-week commitment to the movie.

...where have you been the last five years?
I honestly stopped paying attention. There's actually so much good content out there it became possible to ignore superhero movies and for the most part, movie theatres in general. They feel like a thing of the pas already. Good content is no longer in theatres.

Seems like Sony are giving the Spider-Man trailer its own in-cinema release on Tuesday too at a fan event.
I've lost track with these shitty superhero movies. So after Raimi's Spider-Man, they rebooted it again with Andrew Garfield then ditched that and now have rebooted it AGAIN? And people are actually excited?

Spencer | November 5, 2021 | NEON | Kristen Stewart is Princess Diana

Didn't buy her as Diana. It was Bella in a wig with a "demure" tilt of the head and lots of unintelligible whispering throughout.
