The list is basically the flavor of the year of actors. Next year or in two years probably over half of them are not there anymore. Chalamet and Zendaya is probably the only ones that stays relevant over the next years

Garfield is also doing solid business overseas so far aswell

Personally feels some of you guys had to high expectations from the get go. Never understood that personally. Always felt like a high under 100’s opening. Which is why I predicted 75M

GxK Will get there, WB Will make sure of it

IIRC Marvel is operating under the new mandate from Iger that they everythig needs to be ready and planned, sequences locked before shooting and having to change minimal after shooting so they should be able to reach a July date but why not just take November. Unless it’s a spider movie taking blade’s place ofc

I don’t understand why this and Superman needs to release within such close proximity. How does that benefit anyone)

So in terms of live actions it’s:
2024: Agatha and Echo
2025: Daredevil and Iron Heart
2026: Wonder Man and VisionQuest?
No offense to Vision but I rather have a season 2 to Hawkeye, Moon Knight or Ms.Marvel tbh

What happens if it gets Mario reception (mixed reviews but strong audience reception) which I can because well its Shawn Levy.
That won’t happen. That doesn’t happen with MCU movies. The reception with audiences and critics is pretty much aligned every time. At worst there is a small disparity but something like Mario won’t happen.
Also a lot of people want to highlight Levy work as a potential issue which is completely fair but I will point that his work on Stranger Things especially season 4 isn’t nothing short of excellent. So he has it in him and hopefully with Feige he managed to make something good.

Furiosa sales in Norway are not good. Looks to be a disappointment sadly. Just like Apes.

Anything over the record for an R-rated movie OW is a massive success imo speaking in OW terms

No, if this was a completely standalone Fox affair, I bet it'd be even bigger than it's already set to be. I'd argue the MCU connection is actually baggage that's bringing the movie down a little. That brand leaves a bitter taste in people's mouths these days, and unless those reshoots and rewrites respectively do wonders, we'll likely see that in full force with Captain America 4 and Thunderbolts next year.

This movie is about Deadpool and Wolverine. That is the main attraction and why it’s going to be big. But it being set in the MCU is also adding to the hype. This is something that has been talked about for a long time. Had this just been another “Fox” movie that hype would be lower but still big. It’s just like MoM or NWH. Many different factors that makes the movie stand out that combines to a big hype train.

Thor Love and Thunder opened to 144m and finished its run at 343m. I can see DP doing similar numbers. I don't know why DP wont be frontloaded like the majority of MCU movies. The fanbase buys tickets early, comes out during the opening weekend full force and disappears quickly.
Thor Love and Thunder had awful WOM. I don´t know why people leave that part out when discussing bad legs from MCU movies. Most MCU movies that has good reception also have good legs. DP doing similar numbers like that would be from bad WOM, not a pattern of behavior that´s normal. Vol 3 had great legs, WF had good legs etc.

I think the hurt that those other movies has done is that we’re now living in a basis by basis for MCU movies. People won’t automatically come out and be interested as the trust in the brand quality has diminished. A movie like this was going to stand above for many obvious reasons, even though I’m surprised sales were so strong today. But I think when we come to Feb it’s a new case for Cap 4. People won’t automatically go to that even if they end up loving this one. That is the real damage imo. They really have to earn those butts in the seats through quality, or some hooks like this one has

I would be cautious expecting high sales tomorrow for D&W. I Would love to be wrong of course.
Can confirm that I’m loving.

I have no problem watching a movie in 3D if it’s made with that intention. But as far as I know this isn’t.

That’s simply just dirty. Forcing viewers to watch in 3D. 3D can sod off

This was a great interview

Pros:
- Deadpool 1 and 2 are well received
- Will be over a year since the last MCU movie for most.
- Ryan Reynolds
- Hugh Jackman
- Them joining the MCU and the Event feeling this movie is giving
- Loki tie in, a show that has been very well recevied?
- "Only" the second cbm movie of the year when it comes out
- Summer days
Cons:
- R rating limiting audiences maybe?
- Potential quality? I think bad WOM will destroy this one given the potential fatigue from audiences
- CBM/MCU been struggling lately
Pencil me in for an OW of 110-120M dom, and final of 290M + 450M OS for 740M.

I would be cautious expecting high sales tomorrow for D&W. I think there´s some uncharted waters with the first R rated movie in the MCU and the diminishing returns from the last years. Interest seems high and this is giving event movie vibes, but I wouldn´t be surprised if sales tomorrow is somewhere under Vol 3 first day. This is a long pre sales window and while I do agree that fans will probably rush out to buy I don´t think it will get anywhere close to some of the other previous big MCU movies OD. Would love to be wrong of course.

Sounds like What If season 3 is planned to be the last one. Also apparently coming out before the other animated shows, which is interesting.
Would be a shame, feels like a series that could go on for many seasons but 3 seasons isn’t something to complain about either in this day and age.
