  1. Why would they not put it in front of Captain America and the Superbowl. Because of Thunderbolts?
  2. It's been said many times before but Wednesday and Thursday numbers are all you need to be looking at to predict the weekend. Tuesday numbers are especially useless imo, unless something has a terrible relative jump or something it's not really gonna tell you much. Wednesdays, it's a good thing to compare it's drop from Monday numbers since they're both normal movie going days and can start to signal a strong or a weak weekend.
  3. The LOTR movie looks like the quality of a Netflix anime show, so not expensive at all
  4. KRAVEN T-9 South Florida @ Cinemark (1 theater) 10/949 (1% of tickets sold) 6/580 seats (+0 w/ 4 showtimes XD 4/369 seats (+0) w/ 3 showtimes DBOX 0% growth It'll be shocking to hear but it, in fact, is not sustaining the daily growth pace. Let's check in tomorrow.
  5. NOSFERATU OPENING DAY, T-22 South Florida @ Cinemark (1 theater) 27/315 seats sold across 5 showtimes (+4) (8.6% of available tickets sold) Standard screenings 27/315 seats w/ 5 showtimes (+4) 17% growth, another good day. Been strong growth since yesterday which I'm attributing to reviews being so strong. Same as I said yesterday, I'm gonna update with double digit growth days or on Monday.
  6. Oh that's big. I think those deals tend to slow down presales a bit in the days prior to the deal being active so I'll make a note for that.
  7. This is exactly what they did. Favreau especially was a big fan of this narrative. It made me want to tear my hair out at the time.
  8. Possible Disney only had Mufasa as mandatory for Moans and this one was optional? It was definitely in front of Wicked, according to a lot of people that's how it is as first seen on Wicked opening weekend. I didn't see the Snow White trailer at my Moana showing either, it only had Mufasa, but I did miss some trailers so I might have just not seen it
  9. That being said I still am not seeing it for this movie personally , but OS is a wildcard here. I think if the songs are bangers they should continue to push those and the musical angle to make it stand out.
  10. Yeah I was about to say, stop looking at the right wing bot farm outrage haven that Twitter has become to gauge reactions to this movie. Check other social media websites. I don't doubt there's some hate going the movies way for legitimate and illegitimate reasons. But twitter is not the place to go to gauge that.
  11. Echoing this on Nosferatu it's looking good so far, and is also well above the Mufasa and Sonic sales I counted the other day. Especially with it not being scheduled at what seems to be a lot of AMCs and having very very little PLF allocations, I'm expecting sales will start looking even better with notable final week growth as the allocations finally start being made in earnest. And the very strong reviews are and will continue to help.
  12. KRAVEN T-10 South Florida @ Cinemark (1 theater) 10/949 (1% of tickets sold) (+2) 6/580 seats w/ 4 showtimes XD (+0) 4/369 seats w/ 3 showtimes DBOX (+2) The result of the marketing effort today was a grand total of 2 sales. But it was growth. 25% growth from yesterday. Let's see if it can maintain this pace every day for the next week and a half. Extremely doubtful but nothing is ever 100%.
  13. NOSFERATU OPENING DAY, T-23 South Florida @ Cinemark (1 theater) 23/315 seats sold across 5 showtimes (+3) (7.3% of available tickets sold) Standard screenings 20/315 seats w/ 5 showtimes (+3) 15% growth Also will be making this a Monday update thing unless it posts double digit daily growth.
  14. SONIC THURSDAY PREVIEWS T-17 South Florida @ Cinemark (1 theater) 188/1271 (14.8% of available seats are now sold) (+9) XD screenings 92/432 seats w/ 3 showtimes (+2) DBOX screenings 25/234 seats w/ 3 showtimes (+0) Standard screenings 15/460 seats w/ 4 showtimes (+7) Fan XD screening 56/145 w/ 1 showtime (+0) Another 5% growth day. Steady pace. Fan event seems to not be growing, Cinemark might push it to the front of the app as the day gets closer. I want to do Monday updates for this along with Mufasa from now on just because of time, unless it's notable (double digit) growth then I'll post an update.
  15. MUFASA THURSDAY PREVIEWS T-17 South Florida @ Cinemark (1 theater) 28/1702 seats sold (+15 over a week, 1.6% sold of total, 15% increase in weekly sales compared to week one which had 13 sales) XD screenings 16/434 seats w/ 3 showtimes (+3 seats, -1 showtime) 3D DBOX screenings 4/201 seats w/ 2 showtimes (+4 seats) 3D screenings 2/106 seats w/ 1 showtimes (+2 seats) Standard DBOX 6/246 seats w/ 2 showtimes (+6 seats) Standard screenings 0/715 seats w/ 6 showtimes (+0 seats) Note that there were 5 sales for the standard screening on Thursday but they were refunded on Sunday. I separated out the showtimes more accurately and updated the seat count with the handicap seats I missed. Next update will be next Monday. I think it's at a steady pace so far, especially looking at Friday and Christmas day sales it is looking more back loaded as we thought and it's a steady trickle for Thursday which started in earnest around when Moana came out and had trailer attachments, which I expected.
