Thank you! Poeple are talking like HL`s death earned TDK $300 mio on top of BB`s $200 mio. That`s just insane and not true. Heck, POTC:AWE definitely saw some millions shaved off its gross thanks to pissing off Sparrabeth shippers, but it lost over $100 mio in comparison to DMC because the movie was pure garbage. Even crazy shippers couldn`t sink it that much without actual suckage.So my point is, HL dead or alive, TDK was insane because it rocked.

Tele, please, it`s laughable that TA`s shot at Avatar or Titanic is dismissed despite insane opening while sight unseen TH is expected to reach Avatar numbers just because it`s a prequel to LOTR which were 3 movies that didn`t go the way of Titanic and Avatar in their hayday. I`m really sick of double standard that always treats the Gelding`s Tolkien opus as the done deal while everything else isn`t a sure thing even when there`s some strong evidence that crazy shit is happening.

Yes, but that`s exactly the kind of edning people want to see in a movie like this. Predictability isn`t always bad. You know that: It`s no rocket science and it works in the context. You can go differently.

Kloves has always been the major problem. They had good directors and Columbus, the weakest of the bunch, is responsible for amazing cast.

cause you were bitchy to me. You can`t deny that HP movies had serious gaps in logic due to important stuff omissions amid all the care about character and shit. See, happens to character drivne movies too. That doesn`t make them bad, just "could have been ah-mazing if...".

yes they are. Titanic`s were just as insane or insaner. Nobody disputes that. We are just speculating that given insane first few weeks advantage, TA has a shot of getting there with more normal legs.

take it this way - if Disney thinks it`s doable, they`ll make it happen. After all, they really wanted Tangled to pass $200 mio and it got there with an obvious fudge but that`s what we BOT buffs know and no one esle. So if TA gets within a range, they`ll close the gap with dollar theaters, groupons, so-and-so character birthday theater expansion,Puerto Rico, etc.

But that`s what baumer is tlaking about - that A+ cineascore and palatable insane WOM prevent TA from crumbling. I mena, Battleship and MIB3 are guaranteed to be rotten with poor WOM. So although they`ll take a bit of the audience on "lets see something else this week" basis, they won`t sever its legs.

yes it is. All HP movies, including my absolute favorite PoA suffer from being piss poor standalones. I read the books kazillions of times but sitll couldn`t get over gaps that didn`t explain things for non-readers to understand. Even to a read, a gap is gap. You don`t mentally fill it in but are actually distracted at the omission.

No, it would have been dellusional if TA didn`t have amazing response from all demographics. Also, it opened twice as big as Spiderman which ended up in $404 mio range. TDK has over $50 mio on top of Spidey opening and made $533 mio. Both movies had very good to incredible reviews and great audience response. So with TA opening at $200 mio (which is about $50 mio on top of TDK`s, it should reach at least $600 mio if not pass Titanic. If it behaves like TDK/SM. if it Titanics/Avatars, than Avatar is a toast.
