  1. In Italy it had a modest start: just 120 k during the first day. However, for example, Hotel Transilvania had an OD of 95 K and finished the Weekend with 2.4 mln (3.2 Mln Dollars). If it manages to keep some screens during the Holidays and if it isn't hurted too bad by WIR, it may arrive at 10 mln (13 mln dollars). Not great for DW in Italy but not either the worst result ever.Megamind, F.E, did only 7 mln (10, in Dollars) 2 years ago.

  2. I you took Ice Age 2-4 instead would it beat Madagascar?

    No

    Ice Age 2-3-4 (18.62 + 29.69 + 16.60) = 64.9 mln Euro

    Shrek 2-3-4 (20.85+20.24 +17.02) = 58.1 mln Euro

What abouut Benvenuti al sud, Benvenuti al nord, Benvenuti al ? 43.0+ 33.5+??

Yeah, but there's no threequel planned yet. And note that all my datas are in Euros, not in Dollars.

Benvenuti al Sud would be at 29.8 mln, while Benvenuti al Nord would be at 27.2 mln

  3. Thanks to its fantastic run here in Italy, Madagascar's Saga has become the most-successful trilogy in history (without taking account of inflation). Here are the numbers:

      [*]

      MADAGASCAR 68.1 ( 21.20 – 25.09 – 21.85)

      [*]

      TLOFTR 64.8 (21.43-20.55-22.83)

      [*]

      HARRY POTTER 1-3 ep. 61.9 (25.17-20.89-15.83)

      [*]

      HARRY POTTER 4-6 ep. 57.1 (20.13-18.63-18.33)

      [*]

      SPIDERMAN 1-3 56.3 (19.26 18.98 18.04)

      [*]

      Ice Age 55.5 (7.14-18.62-29.69)

      [*]

      Pirates 1-3 53.2 ( 16.93 19.85 16.43)

      [*]

      SHREK 1-3 47.74 ( 6.65 20.85 20.24)

      [*]

      TWILIGHT 1-3 43.7( 11.48 – 16.45 – 15.73)

      [*]

      MANUALE D'AMORE (Italian) 39.6 (13.93 – 19.03 – 6.62)

Let's see if The Hobbit trilogy can take the lead (given the 3D factor, it has a good chance to get there).

I have never understood why Madagascar was so successful in Italy.
