Dracula Boat looks like one of those movies I'm gonna have to wait until it's out on VOD because those night time scenes look like they're gonna be dim as hell i'd be sitting in the cinema not knowing what the hell was going on.
Saw it last night. The night scenes are fine, actually had lighting to provide the jump scare.

So is $300m for Little Mermaid sunk?

Glad to see Oppy’s number go up from $13M to $14M. Just got back from my 3rd viewing and it’s pretty hard to believe this movie is making so much money. Gotta be the most impressive box office performance of Nolan’s career, given the fact it’s 99% dialogue and almost zero action sequences.
What formats have you seen it on?
AMC Dolby and IMAX were glorious but I tried watching it in 75mm and on my showing, there was a constant flickering on the corners in any bright daytime scene to the point where it gave me a migrane half way through.

Single-handedly putting Regal out of business.
Based on his complexion, I’m guessing 1-2 movies every weekday and 2-3 every sat/sun. I wonder how much he’s spent on concessions.

Almost all of the premium screens here in the San Diego area were 80+% full last night. My 10pm IMAX showing was sold out. A lot of families dressed in Spider-man costumes as well as teenagers.
Looks to be the same numbers for today and tomorrow for IMAX, Dolby and RPX showings.

This was me at my Air screening yesterday but tell me this isn’t the best
This was me during Covid. I was the only person in quite a few movies.
Off the top of my head, I was alone during the opening day screenings of Tenet, The Suicide Squad, Nobody, The Last Duel, Monster Hunter, Copshop, Mortal Kombat and The Northman.
Good times!

The first 20 minutes has the worst, cheapest CGI I've seen in a theatrical release for a very long time...
Once the plane crashes and the film plays out, it's fine. Gerard Butler is yet to make an unwatchable film!
I agree. The plane in the air was horrible, but the action and events on the ground were surprisingly enjoyable.

Whats the record for consecutive days over $1 million? Titanic?

When do kids go back to school in the US? Kids here are off this entire week and then everyone goes back to normal on January the 9th. So at least here in Canada the weekdays should still be huge this week.
Some started going back as early as tomorrow. Majority should be back by the 9th.
*forgot today was a fed holiday.

I haven’t posted in YEARS, but Avatar brought me back to the forums. Cool to see so many of the old vets still posting here and there (baumer, Noctis, Kal, redfirebird, etc.), while seeing so many new folks. I’ve no clue if anyone even remembers who I am 😂
Anywho, this A2 run started off a bit vanilla, but has gotten really fun to watch recently. So much so, that I reset my password after half a decade or something to join in on the fun.
Hoping for a 60M+ weekend! Seems like an attainable 3rd weekend which would be rather amazing given its somewhat underwhelming OW.
I hadn’t posted in forever until a couple days ago. Glad to see Avatar bringing back a few old heads!

still no one talks about rewatchability, Jim's not so secret secret power and the reason the first Avatar is the best selling blu-ray of all time.
More like timing. Just like it popularized 3D in theaters, Avatar BD was released when 3D tvs suddenly became all the rage and people wanted to see if they could duplicate the experience at home.

Not dismissing this, I’m just curious - does the cold actually prevent people from going to the movies? Granted, I live in Montréal, so my opinion on this might be skewed, but it seems to me like having to put on a coat is a small price to pay for a movie you really want to see.
As long as the roads are drivable, I don’t care what the weather is like.

im sorry but why do people like those plastic pieces of garbageI sold my 2 funkos from Hall H for $400 so I’m not complaining.
literally, Funko gave 6000 people $400 worth of funkos for attending the panel.
I walked in about 10 minutes before the start and enjoyed everything.

It's a longshot, but hoping I can walk into Hall H later if there's room. I heard there was plenty of room for Keanu yesterday.
Walked 8 miles on both Thursday and Friday, I'm already beat. Did the Dungeons & Dragons Tavern Experience yesterday. Hoping to do House of Dragons today.

Gotta say I'm surprised but not surprised it's doing these numbers. The repeat viewing value of this is incredible. I dont think there has ever been a movie that I instantly want to go back in to watch it again after the showing ended. I have watched it in IMAX twice already, and I bet you not I am coming back for more, and I'm an Asian Gen Z, no idea what Top Gun was before. Why is it so good?
I watched it 3 times last week,
once each in IMAX, standard and Dolby.
Probably will watch it again in Dolby before JP takes all the screens.

You are right, just looked into and my brain must have misheard uranium as Ukrainian the 3 or so times it was mentioned which is an unfortunate misheard piece of dialogue.
Funny because my friend thought he heard Iran, and I jokingly said he heard “Iranium”

This is a movie you definitely need to see on the biggest screen possible.
If I had to make a comparison, I’d say Top Gun is Toy Story and Maverick is Toy Story 2.
The original had more character building and iconic scenes, but the second is more polished. Pacing is excellent in Maverick with maybe only one scene I’d cut out. It pays just the right amount of tribute to the original while vastly improving the dog fighting/cockpit scenes.
The new batch of pilots get the job done but none are in the same league as Iceman or Goose. It was great seeing Val on screen, especially after all he’s been through.

Also I'm sure there will be a backlash with the country of origin of the villains which is unfortunate.
I’ve seen it twice now and confirmed last night that the country is never mentioned. Even the planes are called “5th generation fighters” instead of MiGs.
