So the final rating at RT is 82%. I think its great, regarding all the hate the first one got. -
Trust me on an emotional level, avatar 2 hits much harder than the first one. The scene with neytiri with the mask was awesome and you described it perfectly but was nothing compared to that one scene in avatar 2. I suggest you put tissue papers in your pocket. The critism regarding the story is nonsense. Nearly every big blockbuster with high BO numbers has a story you could put on coasters. But when it comes to cameron people are nitpicking. Cameron stories are universal, they are easy to follow and yet are very touching. Sure they are very chliche but thats what i want from cameron. I dont want a nolan story where i have to search online what the movie was all about.

Jepp sully was also great, i loved him as a father. Oh man dont remind me, that one scene will haunt me for a very long time, it hit me like a fucking truck. I was emotional devastated.

I think this hfr thing is also made up to bad mouth this movie. Hfr was great, the scenes with hfr+3D were outstanding, nothing comes closes, they were so fluid and crystal clear.

Seriously, cant understand why people are complaining about the runtime and say it could hurt the total gross. Titanic was 3h 14m. Endgame was 3h 2m, and yet those are the biggest blockbuster of all time. Every second of this movie keeps you on the edge.

Nope, i would say a little more . Nearly every scene with fast motion and action are hfr.

Here in germany we are very restrained. No clapping etc. But one guy was screaming " THIS IS CINEMA" at the end And on my way out i heard alot of people praised the visuals/3D and the story. No bad jokes, not one single word that it was to long etc.

Forgot one thing. Neytiri was awesome in this one. And the children were very loveable.

I just came back from my screening. HOLY SHIT 😮 First i have to calm down. Boy this was just incredible. Dont worry, the following is spoiler free. I´m just trying to express my feelings, emotions and some technical issues during that 3 hour ride. That movie is a rollercoaster of emotions, i´m a fucking strong grown ass man, and i never had shed a tear in cinema (ok coco hit me hard, but that was at home 😁 ). But this damn movie made me cry like a little bitch, but not once, not twice, but 3 times. You are back at pandora from the beginning, and want to inhale every second of this world. And the moment when the water comes into play, boy you are not ready for this, it is just jaw dropping, and you cant believe what you just see. 1. Was that movie too long? NOOO. Its a cameron movie, every second keeps your eyes on the screen. Terminator 2, Aliens, Titanic, Avatar 1, every second in those movies has their right to exist. At the end i was just sitting their and was hoping this trip would never. But sadly everything has an end. 2. How was the 3D + HFR? Mind blowing, i had a feeling the screen was a window to pandora and i was there. The HFR was great in combination with 3D, it was all so fluid, no signs of headache or motion sickness. To bad he switched the frames, i was hoping for a complete HFR movie. 3. Was it better than the first one? Hard to compare, the first will always have a special place in my heart, but the second hits hard, on the emontional level. Until the last 1 hour i would say they are on par, but than i had a clear winner. Because of the emotional part i think the second part is better. But I love them both. 4. How were the visuals? To be honest, all was already said. No words needed. I think we have to wait until avatar 3 to have an real contender regarding the visuals. 10/10 ps: sry for my english, its not my native language 😢

Cinema is packed, not bad for wednesday evening while WC is playing. Not to shabby that germany was kicked out, if they would have played right now, the cinema would be empty

Lol, sry mate but the overall reception is very positive and most of the people say is better than the first one. Just because some naysayers trash this movie on their holy crusade against cameron and avatar fans doesnt mean that their are in the majority. Just like the first movie, avatar 2 will change cinema as we know it. Prepare yourself for alot of poorly made HFR movies in the future. Just 12 hours and i will see this in glorious 3d and hfr.

You dont need comics etc. It was stated many times, even in the first one that pandora is 4,9 lightyears from earth. The venture star travels with nearly 66% of lightspeed. So it takes nearly 7 years for the venture star to travel between earth and pandora and vice versa.

Hats off to her. First she made a click bait review by hating avatar and draw all the attention and after she got what she wanted she praised the second one. Nice move.

RT above 80%, MC above 70%, many nominees, i pretty sure we will see BO history again, maybe not in the first week but this movie will pull a tsunami again like the first one. It will start slow, and than gets stronger and stronger.

What exactly do you mean? Sure same exaggerated with the numbers, but those ratings are totally in the range what most of us expected, even most of the die hard fans.
