Vote for Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again and help to spite the haters
Just for you, I didn't place it anywhere in my top 10 (well, it wouldn't have been in my top 10 anyway, but I generally don't participate in that thread). You're welcome!

There will 1000% be a reference to Captain Marvel
Quoted for later. This won't happen.

JJ Abrams and Boba Fett gonna save the day
I'd be surprised if the Fett movie doesn't quietly fall into development hell as I can't see Disney outright backing down and canceling it.

If Deadpool were to have the same multiplier as SS it would end with 306. So 300 is not out of the question.
But SS wouldn't have that multiplier if it had opened in May against stiffer competition the following weeks.

Not sure about anyone else, but I'm getting a headache reading this thread...

Anecdotal and all that, but not a single sell out at the theater near me.

Every one get their friends to watch Last Jedi 6 times to get those numbers up.
I'll tell them to wait for it to arrive on home video.

DC's 'Shazam' Adds 'This Is Us' Actress Faithe Herman to Cast
Of that group, Faithe Herman resembles Darla Dudley, the young African American girl who is Billy's friend at the group home. When Billy/Shazam needs help defeating his nemesis Black Adam, Darla is one of the kids who receives a power up into one of the Shazam Family heroes.

So, based on the 17.5 (if that holds), what kind of a weekend is TLJ looking at (range)?

After watching this, a line from '10 Things I Hate About You' came to mind: "I know you can be underwhelmed, and you can be overwhelmed, but can you ever just be, like, whelmed?"
That's how I felt about The Last Jedi. It's not bad, it's not great, it just is. It kept me engaged enough through the 130-minute duration (sans credits) but not sure I'll ever really think about it again until it comes out on home video.

Hope Sandberg isn't just messing with us. Not only does it imply Batman being in this, but Affleck as well. Could Shazam be Affleck's last hurrah in the role or ushering in further movies?

I really like The Accountant but it's not like it has a huge following or anything like that, reception to the movie seems mixed from my perspective
Doesn't need a following, just talking about O'Connor as being a solid director. But you're right, critics were mixed on it, 5.7/10 rating, though it has a 7.4/10 on IMDb. Point is, he's given time to work on the script (vs. the 6 weeks on the first movie) since this isn't even going into production until Fall 2018 perhaps even later.

I've seen The Accountant. It's very bad
You're in the minority. To each their own and all that.

No matter what, this one is going to drop domestically and possibly worldwide.
Of course, but if it's any good and with more time to actually develop the script, it will have a lower OW but could see decent enough legs. Of course, if you're the studio you will want to keep the budget in check.

Not sure how many were at my 9:45am showing of JL, probably was about 10-15% full, but wow there were probably 50+ kids in the lobby to see Wonder. In the parking lot there were 4 school buses. Trailers in front of JL were Rampage, A Quiet Place, Pitch Perfect 3

Short review, but I enjoyed, warts and all. Yeah, Steppenwolf was bad but the hyperbole of being the worst ever is a bit much. I actually didn't noticed the bad CGI for Superman that much and just all around had a fun time. Will be interested to see what will hopefully be an Ultimate Cut on home video.

Just saw JL rotten tomatoes score, smart move by WB to delay the % release. It'll help it this weekend but not next.
Unless people actually enjoy the movie and disagree with the critics...
