So WW did better at your theater today than it did yesterday?
I didn't pay as much attention to Saturday (was out a good portion of the day), but I do think it did better.

WW is selling very well at my local theater. 4 sellouts in the last couple hours with one being 8:20, 9:30 is 90% full along with 8:50 3D. 10:15 is about 20% full right now and will most likely sell out.
Same here today. 6 Sell Outs (including 1 3D).
No sell outs for The Mummy.
1 for Captain Underpants, 3 for GOTG2 but I think some are in the smallest theaters.

It baffles me how people choose to put others on ignore I would never do it for the simple fact that different (and sometimes annoying as hell) opinions make this board so much fun. I mean, without BKB's trolling for example I could never have enjoyed WW's win so much. And seeing how I love movies everyone shits on out of principle, some of the hate and trolling here actually makes my moviegoer life better. Actually, it is for this very reason that I can't wait to see Alien.
*Puts James on ignore*

Those numbers for WW
Saw it a third time, my dad hated it but my mom loved it.
You only have one option: Disown your father.

Sunday drop should be closer to 30%. Still, 55M 2nd weekend is fantastic.
Any reason why it should be a 30% drop?

Why Wonder Woman losing theaters so soon?
Is it normal to lose this amount going into the 3rd week?Well, you have no less than FIVE new openers, 4 of them wide, so something has to go (POTC is losing over 1400) and (I think) contractually they can't reduce the number of screens of The Mummy or It Comes at Night, given the weak opening of the former, I'm sure theaters would prefer to dump a few screens of that rather than WW.

Busy weekend here. Wonder Woman has 4 sell outs (2 on showings that don't start for 45 min and 1 hr; and the 8:00pm 3D and 9:25pm 2D likely will sell out), GOTG2 also has 4 sell outs, Pirates - 1, Captain Underpants - 2, Mummy... 0.

I'm a Warriors fan and I say that game was incredible.
Only a Warriors fan would give two s's about this series. God I hope there are two different teams next year, but highly doubtful.

Who'd thunk earlier this year that The Mummy's total domestic run (assuming around $70-75M) wouldn't even come close to Wonder Woman's OW?

Don't be surprised if all the holdovers have bigger than expected drops. This game is in all timer status.
Doubtful.

I am reading about it. The movie was pulled from his DVD released too late and some stores sold it by mistake. This is amazing.
What was great about mine is, I got it for free to review. But got pulled so I didn't bother watching.

I can think of only a few movies I saw multiple times in the theaters. Ghostbusters II, Batman Forever, Sin City, The Matrix Reloaded (only because I had a free ticket), Batman Begins (probably saw that 3 or 4 times) and I think The Dark Knight twice.
-
I have a DVD copy of 47 Meters Down when it was titled In the Deep, I probably should watch it this weekend.

Not much to report when it comes to The Mummy, spot checking the 7:20pm showing is about 45% full, but locally, 4 showings sold out and the 9:25pm could sell out for WW. Heck, even 1 showing of GOTG2 sold out as well.

the mummy is an awful movie according to reviews and audience, but i wonder how the hell did suicide squad manage those high numbers being an equally shitty movie...
Well, for one thing, Suicide Squad opened in August and had basically no competition. Mummy is opening up against one of the best reviewed movies of the year, even if it's in its second weekend. Pair that with a Mummy movie that seemingly people didn't want, and it's a recipe for a turkey (domestically anyway).

Deadline tracking OW 65M
Now predict 60M 2nd weekend
Was that Deadline's tracking or what they got from Warner?

Keep in Mind the Mummy Returns adjusts to a Wonder Woman sized OW and over 300m Domestic

Final in-house tracking for The Mummy was $28m. Bombs away, at least domestically.
Yikes. If that holds, it's amusing that Wonder Woman would make more on its opening weekend than The Mummy in its entire domestic run.

I'll put it this way: is the advertising for Mummy demonstrably worse than TMNT2 or the ID4 sequel no one asked for, which were similarly panned by critics and opened to $35M and $41M respectively last June?
There is enough of built in audience for Cruise/Mummy/"popcorn action" that $30 million is almost assured. It can get to $40+, and I believe the chances of that happening will improve when the preview gross is reported over $3 million in the morning.
We'll see. Though ID4 sequel got what it did out of nostalgia for the first. While the 99 Mummy is well regarded, people will see this as yet another reboot.

Ye of little faith ...
Given the trailers and TV spots, they haven't given me a reason to have faith. That said, I think it'll get above $30M.
I'll give my money to a Cruise film, but that will be Mission Impossible 6 next year...

7:10pm of WW here sold out.

Just checked mine, and they're putting all the Thursday showings in their smallest auditoriums (so far).
