Except to actually have a decent paying job as a critic, you need an outlet to hire you. That's where the racial and gender discrimination comes in.
Come on mate that's delusional. I see plenty of female critics.

I mean, she’s completely right?
No, she's not lol. That's like saying White people's review of black panther is irrelevant. A critic of any colour or race should be able to review any movie. If she openly said "I don't need a 40 year old black dude to tell me what didn't work with him" on any movie ypu know Disney will have fired her in a heartbeat. And don't you dare bring up Armond White 😂

Brie is 100% right. Film criticism needs more diverse voices.
no-one is stopping black people or females from becoming movie critics. there's isn't a racial or gender criteria stopping people being a movie critic. Brie's comment is pure nonsense and anyone who sticks up for her is quite frankly part of the racial discrimination
The film got 42% for Christ sake, it was universally underpraised. I'd understand if it was Black Panther and a long steak of white critics complaining that's it's too ghetto but singling out a guy doing his job and haven't a similar opinion to the rest is not a good look in the slightest

I don't think it's about it being a female led movie, but because of Brie Larson's obnoxious social media comments. Like the time she said a 40 year old white man can't review a wrinkle in time because his opinion doesn't matter.
I doubt many people even know about that.

The trailer doesn't feel like an MCU trailer.
I get strong Fox X-Men vibes from it.
Also, not that it means much but....
You'll have to vote to see the result.
I don't need to vote to know the results.
in order of Box office gross

Is that earnestly meant or do you try to be sarcastic?
As in a lot of these negatives seem to be based on ... lets say it 'wanna-be-men's'
A ~ 5% negative ratio is for a female lead.... pretty good IHMO.
Plus: it shows that the majority of ~ 95% is simply less 'loud' than the 'screaming' - in this and similar cases - really small minority.
edit to add:
Btw, I think it is not a bad amount of reactions per like/dislike in connection to trailer view count, plus the trailer view count seems to be nice too
so 1 in 20 gave it a negative reaction? Thats not bad at all, can hardly blame that on sexism. that's basically like a movie getting 95% on RT

A large portion of the Internet, especially outside of Twitter/FB Internet, fanboys (not necessarily fans of whatever franchise) are privileged white males who grew up seeing all their heroes also being privileged white males. Whenever a movie comes along giving a major role to a minority, they’ll take it as a subconscious attack on their power and privilege.
And also, just by me saying this I’m sure I’m going to provoke about 4-5 of them lurking here in

Most white males honestly don't think about it. We too busy running the world.

The mods already asked you to stop bringing up Depp x Heard discussion into this thread.

If Heard was so obviously lying as you say, then why Depp had to pay her millions and also issue a statement saying she didn't make any false allegations? If he was innocent he wouldn't have settled, especially in those conditions that strongly suggest he was indeed guilty.
Amber heard is the one who had recently been arrested for domestic abuse. She'd been known to be a money grabber prior to their relationship after dating the likes of Elon Musk. Doesn't take a genius to work out that she s a good digging little sloot

Last night result was a disgrace. Fury clearly got robbed. It wasn't even a close fight. The only rounds I gave to Wilder were the ones with the knockdowns.
It's pretty damn clear wilder is dodging AJ and doesn't want to come to the UK to fight as he won't have the judges on his side. Fury should have had a sensational comeback story here, that was taken from him

Did America not learn anything from MeToo?
Edit, this isn’t the place for this. Sorry.
I'm not American and I take police reports more seriously than The Sun news paper. Police saw no evidence then something appears a few days later? Smelling bullshit doesn't take anything away from all the good MeToo has done but obvious bullshit is obvious bullshit

Didn’t Amber Heard give the Depp money to charity? I think she did.
Anyway, I wouldn’t expect Saturday numbers on such a dead weekend.
yeah, after she was accused of money grabbing. I don't think anyone knows how much of it she gave away though

Funny, everyone I know says it looks amazing.
Almost as funny as you trying to deny that you hate this move with passion for some reason lol.
if everyone thought the animation looks amazing then 100m OW would be all but assured. When it doesn't we can assume my opinion was shared by many. Don't assume that my doubts mean I hate a movie, it's just a movie lol

Haha yes claiming mist children haven't seen a 40 year old musical and doubting a 400m total is also a sign of hatred

Your hard on hate on this is hillarious to watch.
I'll still watch it and give an honest opinion about it but pretty much everyone I know doesn't seem keen on this due to the visuals.
I'm also not expecting a best Animation win. If their Lego movie didn't nab a nomination despite being one of the most creative animations in a long time I don't see this doing so either. Lord Miller and bro will be the Christopher Nolan of animation when it comes to the Oscars

IM is great and still top tier though I much prefer IM3 to IM2 which is so messy and feels like a running in place movie even if RDJ was still strong in it. Tony as a character fares better in IM3 (even if IM gets less screen time). I think he's had some of his best and strongest material in the Avengers movies and particularly CW.
see I disagree with the latter part. Russo bros turned Iron Man into a more serious superhero where RDJ can show strong acting however they seem to strip away a part of his humour because of it. IM is good in Civil War but he's more fun in everything else.

According to Gunn.
Again, not any more Gunn's baby than Avengers was Whedon's and yet ...
oh I totally agree there. Afterall the Guardians were amazing in IW and it's not like Gunn directed that.
I will say this though, I miss Favrea. Even if IM2 was disappointing, his films seemed a little more grown up and I miss the touch he added. RDJ as Iron Man was best in the first 2 movies under his direction and he can hardly be blamed for being made to turn IM2 into an Avengers Trailer

As for Guardians being all Gunn's baby... even if we ignore pre-existing comic material
So basically the standard uninspired story was Nicole's work and the humour, character arcs and everything else that gave the movie it's heart and made it as popular as it was is Gunn's work?
yeah it's safe to say it's all Gunns baby

Avengers Infinity War is a revered movie, top 50 of all time in dudebro land aka IMDB.
This Spiderman movie is for hipsters.
I'll always look at this as that Spider-Man film that could have been good had they not cheaped out on the production.
'spiderverse, the greatest Spider-Man you'll never bother to watch'
They should have made 23 jump street

Diversity and Gender Representation in Movies

So 18% of critics on RT are black? Considering RT rounds up reviews from mainly US and UK sources that number seems normal. 12.5% of the USA population is black, another 12% Hispanic according to Google meaning 75% of people living in the US are white.
In the UK only 3% of the population are black, looking at these stats 82% of critics being white seems absolutely normal and falls inline with the population of these countries.
As for women there have been countless studies which show how alot of women tend to abandon their careers in favour of starting a family. 43% of women with children leave their jobs.
Americans always make the mistake of making stats about literally everything without ever thinking about dissecting these stats to come up with a more accurate reason.
so yes, delusional was exactly the word I was looking for
