I'm also thinking about Carrie's daughter, Billie Lourd at this time. I just watched an interview with her talking about how much she loved working with her mom on Episodes 7 and 8.
Yeah this is so sad. I loved seeing Carrie as Leia again.
I hope pulls through, and if she won't I hope she'll at least be allowed to go in peace. A woman as vibrant as her should not forced to live like a plant.

That FYC ad is hysterical.

I'm really confused by all these people expecting this to be in TFA/Avatar/Titanic territory.
It's a spin-off. What am I missing here?

I'm rooting for Isabelle Huppert.

Nice bump for Moana. It's doing well. Hope it can survive Sing.

Moana seems almost tailor made for Japan. There's more than a little Miyazaki in there. But then again that's how I felt about Brave and that didn't set the market on fire. Still, the potential to break out in Japan is certainly there.

This is either going to be an insane cult classic or a complete piece of crap. There is no middle ground.

700 million seems like the ceiling. But Christmas could bring some surprise legs. Who knows.

Moana is doing fine. Word of mouth will spread. I mean, compared to Frozen.... it's the better film
Frozen didnt go crazy until late december and january. Moana should fare consistently through the holidays and it will hold up in the face of Sing as well. It's just too much of a crowd pleaser.

Definitely skipping this. Cars 2 was a mess.
-
Trolls was filler until Moana came out so no surprise there.

I want Bad Santa to crash and burn. No one asked for it.
Great for Moana. 85M should be achievable...

Word of mouth might start spreading rapidly very early for Moana if it's as good as it appears to be. Could get closer to Frozen's 5-day than many thought possible.

Knowing the Internet there's probably a twelve page essay written by a fan explaining all of this.
Ugh, like the 'PIXAR theory'. Total nonsense.

The problem with this franchise is that it fundamentally makes no sense... who builds their houses? Who builds anything in this universe?
Trying to figure the logic out in his franchise is maddening. No amount of Dark Knight darkness can fix this hot mess.
But merchandise

Oh good. Pixar took notes.
we can only hope this cryptic trailer means Mater is dead.

This is breaking out for sure. Perfect counter-programming to the pile of merchandise driven neverending parade of franchise tent poles.
I'm hyped now thanks to this glorious trailer ...

I cant find much info on the music so far. Like how many songs and are they all original? I sure hope so. Most movie musicals nowadays are either adapted from Broadway or they feature a bunch of pop songs. This movie looks like a true novelty.

That is gargantuan for UK and The Netherlands. This film was made for non US audiences and the results show.

Under a billion seems unlikely to me. It might however end up below Zootopia which is an interesting prospect.

Its just a reference not an exact parallel its a similar idea arab and Turk are diffrent races and both feel insulted i you confuse them so do persians as well
We're all one race anyway. If you're going to get technical, Turks are also a mixed race, made up of Mongolians, Arabs and Caucasians. Whereas Persians originally descend from Aryans (hence the name Iran) they don't even resemble modern Europeans or most of the people living in the Caucasus. And they're mixed with Russians in the north on top of that.
The sooner we accept we're all one race the better. We're 99.99% identical.

I have many refugee friends from the middle east and cannot bring myself to smile everytime a trailer for this thing comes on. Whats happening there is horrifying. These are people. Their suffering is not comedy material. Jonah's "let me through, I'm an American" line is revolting.
And if it's meant as satire then they've done a horrible job.

My two cents, something I've felt for a while, is that DC's films have very limited appeal to women. That's why the frontloading is so intense. I think it's just fanboys showing up. The negative reception is further fueling the drop-off of course. But toxic word of mouth isn't the only issue here.
From what I see around me, in general, these films dont draw in women like Marvel. Maybe there's some audience data to back this up? Because it's merely what I suspect, not fact-based.
Wonder Womam could be the key film to change things around in WB's favor, in that it could be both good and have bigger appeal among women, but it's looking kind of bleak.

I think Japan could push it over. Would love for that to happen.
This was an unexpectedly good film. So it would be deserved.
Assassin's Creed | 12/21/2016 | Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard | Final Trailer on Page 71

While the Assassin's Creed games have a great premise, beautiful gameplay and overall high entertainment value, they're not as well written as its fans want you to believe.
And then the film adaptation decides to focus on the aspect of the games that no one cares about. This thing is a disaster for the Assassin's Creed brand.
So much wasted potential...
