23IsEverywhere
I have been learning a couple of CAD (Computer Aided Design) programs (SolidWorks CATIA) in my masters program. Do any of you know if these or similar programs are used in the construction of props, miniatures, or any other part of the film industry?

23IsEverywhere
Check this out Thanks after some searching it seems like the programs that they use are closer to animation ones then the ones that I know I was hoping since there are people in the industry on the forums they might have known information, which I hoped (though realized probably wasn't the case) would contradict what the amount of Google results seem to indicate.
Dementeleus
CAD programs might be used for set design, conceivably. Honestly, though, I don't know for sure.
