A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum is an amusing musical comedy. The entire cast is game, including a very humorous Buster Keaton in his final role. The irreverent comedy is admittedly fun, but it grows tiring over its short runtime. The musical numbers are shot in a dull manner, and the climatic chariot race is way too long. Still, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum lives up to the promise of its title, delivering a chuckle-filled period farce. B-
