Good Morning might drag a little bit, but it's frequently funny, has an amusing message about the dangers of small talk, and ends with a wonderful poop-your-pants joke. It holds up very well and Ozu's direction is top-notch. Shimazu steals the show as a young child who always feels natural in his cuteness. Good Morning is a good movie with an excellent message: television is a necessity in the modern era.
