Positives

 

- This movie is basically non stop, violent, martial arts action. Its stars a few people from the Raid films (Iko Uwais, Joe Taslim, Julie Estelle) and they all shine in this. 

 

- It's more brutal and violent than the Raid films (severed limbs, gore, blood splatter). The fight choreography or direction isn't quite on par with the Raid but way above most Hollywood flicks. The final 2 fights are some of my favorite from this year. 

 

- Nice locations for some of the fights (inside a swat van while driving, butcher shop). 

 

Negatives

 

-Story and characters are just serviceable. Basically an assassin (Joe Taslim) working for the triad quits when he's suppose to kill a little girl and then tries to protect her from a band of triad killers with the final showdown with his old friend played by Iko Uwais. 

 

-Not a fan some of the camera angles or soundtrack choices.

 

Overall a great martial arts film and kudos for Netflix for funding it. 8/10 (A-)
