My money's on either Travis Knight or Jennifer Kent. Marvel's looked at both for stuff before.

The only argument I could see being made for Strange having a big enough jump to reach a billion would be that both the Avengers films he was in (especially Infinity War where he has the most screentime of the two) establish him as an important "big gun" character in the MCU both in terms of power and him being put on the same league as Iron Man and the more established crew, introducing him to a lot of people who didn't see the first in theaters. But even then I think that'd get him to...what 800 million? 850?

Scorsese's Joker comments are hilarious after months of DC Stans saying the fact that he mentioned Marvel specifically means he didn't also include DC in his opinions of blockbusters.

We Got This Covered is a complete crock of shit that will make up anything, and I mean anything, for a click. They've literally spent the last several months going down a list of Disney's animated films claiming a live action version is being made every few weeks. They're just awful.

Before anyone jumps to conclusions, I'm betting the trailer being "more Marvel in what they're doing" means they actually show off the characters powers in this one.
Though it does raise the inevitable question of what Disney does if it's a critical/financial hit. They're not ones to leave a potential franchise go unexplored (for better or for worse).

Yeah being under New Mutants, movie who's only promotion is a trailer that's OVER TWO YEARS OLD is...not great.

I want to believe moving to January is because they want to get out of Shang-Chi's way but...there's a lot of history of January being just a "fuck it lets pray it makes money" month.

Instructional video ≠ villainous monologue
It's a video he made 24 hours before explaining every detail of his plan so yes, it is a bad guy monologue.

1. Veidt doesn't give a villainous monologue in this show, unless you mean his letter to the game warden? If so, I don't see how that fits either.
2. Manhattan looked fine, and I'd rather have a show with great writing/directing and occasionally "fine" VFX (even though Looking Glass' entire mask is CG and looks seamless) than something that looks expensive but has sub-par writing, directing and acting like The Mandalorian or a number of other big genre shows.
They had no problem with the Squid, I don't see why Manhattan had to look like a guy who got lost on the way to a pride parade.
As for Veidt:

I think you misunderstood the original text. Maybe something like Netflix's Iron Fist is more to your tastes.
No it's actually great how Veidt, who's most iconic scene in the comics is how he doesn't see himself as a villain and doesn't make a big villainous monologue before his plan is complete, does that exact goddamn thing in the show.
It's so great how despite other HBO shows having fully CG Polar Bears and dragons, Doctor Manhattan only has slightly more covincing makeup than the CW version of Braniac.

Those shows are low budget with a ridiculously fast turnaround (and it shows), like an episode is filmed and 2-3 months later it's airing on CW. These MCU D+ shows all seem to have a year or so of post-production planned, even with far fewer episodes.
Idk how having fewer episodes will somehow make it harder to follow than the CW doing literally a hundred epsiodes a year.
-
For a show that essentially requires you to have read the comic to understand anything about the plot the Watchmen show sure does fundamentally misunderstand a lot of the themes of the original comic. Particularly Veidt.

Moon Knight
She Hulk
Ms Marvel
These are all gonna come out in 2022. I know they have not been dated yet. But the other shows are all further along the process than these ones.
So the schedule is gonna look like
Shang-Chi (February)
WandaVision (Early 2021)
Loki (Early 2021)
Doctor Strange (May)
What if (Mid 2021)
Spider-Man 3 (July)
Hawkeye (Late 2021)
Thor (November)I’ve not included Falcon as it is scheduled for late 2020.
Ms. Marvel had a showrunner set before Hawkeye, and films in April. Plus all the shows announced are confirmed to be part of Phase 4, and it looks like 2022 is Phase 5. It's sounding like its all about 2021 for Marvel.

If it does get released I'll be happy if only so that every third post in any DC board isn't constantly complaining about Justice League. Could you imagine if the Marvel fandom en masse spammed every person online about how much they didn't like Iron Man 2 or Thor The Dark World? For MULTIPLE YEARS?

The craziest thing is that the Snyder Cut likely isn't much better than the theatrical cut. At the minimum the ridiculous hype around it definitely can't live up to whats actually in it. Especially since one of the biggest differences is setup for a sequel that isn't happening.

Ant man 3
Considering the last two I don't see why that'd be the case.
If anything the clearly riskiest bet on the Phase 4 docket is Eternals. A complete unknown property even for diehard comic fans. They're absolute Z-listers. The frigging Inhumans are more mainstream than the Eternals.

People kept saying AMATW totals as if that's not nearly 700 million WW. Do you know how many franchises would kill to have that as being seen as "bottoming out"?

Yeah, my only gripe, as a prequal and we know what happens in EG, it's hard to get invested in the character as we know there is no future in it.
Still there's always kween FloPu to look forward too.
You see the introduction of like 20 new Black Widows and don't see what that's signalling for the future?

Kevin Feige is doing a CCXP panel on the 7th, so if it's not the 3rd it's definitely then.

Doesn't make it any less terrible
They managed to do something that DC's films haven't been able to do in decades, which is make a likable version of Superman

CWverse is liked by soccer moms and teen girls. It's shite. Doesn't matter if it's "successful". HBO Max needs to focus on producing quality content if they want to appeal to other demographics as well.

Marvel/Scorsese discourse part 40 million, this time with Todd Phillips
Interesting given Phillips obvious boner for Scorsese movies in Joker.

Do people actually know what Kennedy's position is, and that Filoni or Favreau being put in her role would mean they would work on their Star Wars shows less and not more?

My guess: Disney changed up the story to tie more to Loki/WandaVision, and Derrickson wasn't interested. If that's the case, a big potential director could be Matt Shakman, WandaVision's director.
