Anyone want to talk about Happy Feet 2

Penguins have been done for a while; Happy Feet came out right after March of the Penguins, and the dancing thing was a nice novelty, but in 2011 it's been done. The reaction to the original seems pretty mixed for a movie with a 4.5x+ multiplier. Breaking Dawn could have had some effect, like Twilight did with Bolt three years ago. But at the end of the day, it's just another animated sequel underperforming because marketing failed to reignite anyone's interest in the franchise. Plus, families are saving their money for The Muppets. Or at least they better be.

ANY COMEDY against Big Bang is going to have poor ratings. It's not CBS's fault, NBC has to know that whatever they put will be counterprograming. When 30 Rock gets a 1.6 share in January, they'll know that Community was at least consistent. My hope is that Whitney or Chelsea quickly dies on Wednesday and NBC puts Community there. And that one of them dies sooner rather than later because the show's not coming back next year if it's a summer burnoff.

Futon Critic just confirmed that the rest of the season will indeed air. But this means a season four probably won't happen.I'm crying right now.

I haven't come across a CBS sitcom (besides How I Met Your Mother, which I don't follow but reruns are decently funny) that isn't dreadful. I don't like this show at all. Real nerds watch Community on Thursdays.

Archer and South Park, for sure. Also, Bob's Burgers is a surprisingly good show.

Usually I flip-flop between this and Parks and Rec, but Community's probably the best show on network TV.

Immortals and J&J will drop more than a million each in actuals. That's about as strongly as J. Edgar could have opened. I think from here on out I'll wait for reviews before considering Eastwood movies for BP nominations.

Season 8 was definitely a dip in quality overall. There were some classic episodes (Palestinian Chicken instantly comes to mind) but I don't know, the New York stuff surprisingly didn't work for me. I hope we get at least one more season, though.

After some really good pacing last season, Walking Dead is dreadfully boring now. Something interesting better happen before the midseason break or I'm not coming back in February.
