    Alas, that number for Dark Shadows is not very surprising. The Avengers is the eight million pound gorilla in the room, and besides, I think people are starting to tire of the lazy, uninspired films Burton and Depp keep churning out.

    I think that's a reach. The first four titles on the list are arguably the most the popular comic book properties. Perhaps more importantly, they weren't badly mishandled on film like many of the other superheroes mentioned.
