  2. I know this. Hence the part where I said revived or replaced, especially where the major characters are involved (i.e., the ones that show up in movies). As for your other point, I understand what you are saying; I just don't agree.
  3. I like the synergy of the Marvel films. You keep bringing up this Iron Man thing, but it's a non-issue. Superheroes don't die, and if they do die, they are revived or replaced with a "similar model." So, whether or not IM3 was announced before Avengers is irrelevant. The existence of IM3 isn't spoiling anything. Superheroes don't die.
  4. So TDKR is looking at a 65%+ drop this weekend. Ouch. Well, summer weekdays should get it to $400M...probably...maybe.
  5. Ugh. Other than Ted and Magic Mike, this summer has been a bummer. Maybe we were spoiled by THG and TA.
  6. Hunger Games managed $18.7M on its second Friday. If TDKR comes in below that...ouch. Hope Nikki is close for once.
  7. Also: Prequel To Be Released As Digital Comic In August
  8. If TDKR manages recover the "lost audience," I doubt it will happen within the first month. The wounds are too fresh and there are too many other things going on. However, it could enjoy some late legs.
  9. Thanks, MM! I'm actually a girl, albeit a tomboyish one. Growing up, my dad wanted sons but got daughters. I became the surrogate. We'd play catch, shoot guns, and watch violent movies. Ah, memories. The 80's action movie will forever be my favorite genre, and Invasion USA will forever be my favorite 80's action movie. It's 200 proof awesome sauce. Every frame is perfection! And Megaforce, LOL! I haven't thought about that one in years. It's gotta be one the greatest bad films of all time.

  11. I was thinking more like $155M-$160M, but I hope you're right.
  12. This speculation is pointless. There's no way to quantify the impact of the shooting. You're all talking in circles, and worse, you're using this event to excuse/justify your predictions.
  13. Which is why I believe the shooting isn't the only factor keeping families away.
  14. According to the foremost TDKR thinkers on the forum here.
  15. I hope so! I got a fever, and the only prescription is more Karl Urban!
  16. I think the studio does need to cut another trailer, sell it a bit better. It's tricky, though, because the movie is hard 'R' and most of the really cool scenes are probably not suitable for general audiences.
  17. Such a bummer of a weekend.I think I'll go see TDKR in IMAX tomorrow. Every $15 helps.
  18. I'm loving the cityscape (right click, Set as Background), and cut up Lena Headey is still hotter than 99% of the race.
  19. Absolutely! Whatever the final tally, it will be impressive, and y'all should be proud of that achievement. Heck, I don't even like this franchise and I'm rooting for it at this point.
  20. I think today will be huge, but I also think the weekend will be more frontloaded than most are predicting. If some families decide to skip the theater on Saturday and Sunday due to the late unpleasantness, that certainly won't help matters.
  21. I would "like" this comment, but it seems inappropriate.
