I could potentially see them doing that if for no reason other than to be able to market Avatar 2 as the sequel to the highest grossing film of all time.
Very possible. But they may just have a double feature with Avatar 2 instead. It’ll be interesting to see how they proceed.

Saving this for when Cameron re-releases Avatar and beats endgame.
Cameron doesn’t release or re-release. Disney will either re-release it or they won’t.

As much as I liked to believe at the time that BvS had a lot of hype behind it, I sadly don’t think that was the case in hindsight. Maybe it was because of how divisive Man of Steel was, but people seemed pretty apprehensive about the film from the moment it was announced. That’s not to say there was zero hype for it, but it wasn’t all across the board like it was for The Force Awakens or Endgame. With the exception of the Comic Con trailer, the marketing was pretty divisive, as were the casting choices.
There was never any chance that it would score the highest OW of all time. I don’t even think it would’ve crossed $200 million on OW. Sure, it had a higher opening day than something like The Avengers, but that’s because it had Thursday night previews and Good Friday going for it.
The hype for BvS was real. People had been talking about Batman and Superman in the same movie since the 90s. Its OW was inpressive, even if it wasn’t record breaking. The problem is that the movie wasn’t very good, which hurt the domestic gross. Although you are right that Man of Steel didn’t help BvS out at all.

Has movie fandom at a sport level is actually a thing that exist ? It does seem to, people using word like we and winning like a fandom.
Box office would be pretty boring to follow if a person didn’t have a rooting interest. The same applies to any awards shows. The whole appeal is to care about who wins. And the only way to care is to be a fan. The word “fan” is actually an abbreviation for “fanatic.”

Some of these conspiracy theories are nonsense but there's no denying that, for whatever reason, there was a whole bunch of bloggers doing a year-long smear campaign against the DCEU when Zack Snyder was at the helm. There was just a very toxic and loud negative coverage. They even spread rumors that Wonder Woman was a disaster, said the trailers looked bad and stuff, but they were shut down when the serious critics started acclaiming the movie and the positive reviews quickly took control of the narrative.
I'm not saying I belive there was a conspiracy, an organized group of bloggers doing a master plan to destroy the DCEU. But a lot of them for whatever reason I don't understand hated Zack Snyder and didn't stop until they took away the joy for the fans who liked the franchise. And that's what makes DC fans so angry. Why would you try to ruin something others are enjoying, just because you don't enjoy it? That's like, I don't enjoy MCU movies at all, but millions do. If I somehow had the power to stop it, why would I do that? Just because I don't enjoy MCU movies I will ruin for the millions who do? That's not fine.
Bloggers who hate Zack Snyder and the DCEU should have moved on with their lives, and not make a living hell for the fans.
Bloggers can’t ruin anything for anyone. Just don’t read their blogs. To purposely continue to read sites that you think are wrong makes no sense. It’s one thing if it’s a message board you frequent, but blogs and websites can be ignored quite easily.

Well, for one, IW and EG aren’t called part 1 and part 2. But in all seriousness, calling it The Godfather Part I/ Part Ii/Part III was just the title. It wasn’t one movie that was split into 3 parts. Unless you believe that all franchises are just 1 movie split into multiple installments. But no one believes that. I don’t think I have to define what a franchise is for anyone.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was one movie split into 2 parts. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay was one movie split into 2 parts. IW and EG are 2 distinct movies, with 2 different plots. They are both installments in the same franchise, but they are not the same movie. In order to believe they are the same movie, a person would have to have not understood the plots of IW and EG. Additionally, Kevin Feige was quoted in the article posted above stating that they are 2 distinct movies.

To both sides:
So what if it is 2 parts or not? What's the essential point here?
It really doesn’t make a difference. One poster brought it up, wanting credit for being right for saying it was a part 1/part 2 situation. However, there is a factually correct answer that it isn’t. Does it really matter if people want to believe otherwise? Not really. But there is an answer. It isn’t a case of semantics and it isn’t an unanswerable question.

All of this is semantics. What does it matter if they call it part 1 & 2 or not? The point is the story was never meant to end with IW. Endgame simply doesn't make sense without IW and Endgame basically undoes everything that happened in IW. These movies are very much inseparable
The only thing is they have their own movie title, but you might as well have called them Avengers: Infinity War Part I and Avengers: Infinity War Part II. The problem is that it's a dead giveaway that what you're about to see in part 1 isn't definitive, so giving them their own movie titles makes sense. But it's essentially the same long movie
Endgame doesn’t make sense without IW in the same way that Princess Diaries 2 doesn’t make sense without The Princess Diaries. Most sequels build on the original movie. Rocky 2 would make no sense if you didn’t see Rocky.
IW is a film that tells the story of Thanos getting the necessary elements to assemble the Infinity Gauntlet. Once he assembles the Gauntlet and snaps his fingers, the plot is complete. It ends with the antagonist victorious. Endgame is about the after effects of what happened in IW. It is another installment in the franchise, but it isn’t one long movie broken into 2 parts.

Yet they are both filled into Avengers 3:

So the movie Part 1-2 filmed in one big chunk is officially announced in 2014, before Age of Ultron is released and before writers/director are hired, there was an older plan that than for which that was not the case that fair enough, but why it would have more "value" than the more updated plan ?
They always planned to film them back to back. They were just originally intended to be separate movies, which is what they turned out to be. However, there was a time when they thought they were going to label them as part and part 2 because that was the trendy thing to do.

I still find it funny that last year people were arguing with me that infinity War wasn’t a “part 1 film”.
Endgame comes out and proves IW was undeniably a part 1 film. Everyone’s been quiet on that argument since lol.
IW is as much of a part 1 as Empire Strikes Back was a part 1. Not really a part 1. It just ends with the antagonist winning.
I think some people misconstrue IW as a part 1 because at one time it was going to be re-labeled as a part 1 because of other films like Harry Potter going that route. However, the failure of Mockingjay being split into 2 ended that plan. The ironic part is that before the part 1 & 2 fad, IW and Endgame were envisioned as 2 separate movies. Most people didn’t know the orignal plans, so they mistakenly think it was always meant to be a part 1, and was changed because of Mockingjay. But the reality is it was changed back to its original plans of not being a part 1.

This was inspired by @Eric!'s post about box office stories, and one of the stories was Ne Zha. He wondered if Chinese animation will ever have a worldwide hit.
Now Ne Zha is already as huge as many of the biggest hollywood movies ever worldwide, but just in China. Ne Zha is based on Chinese mythology, so it in particular is probably not a good candidate for international breakout, although it was shown in some IMAX screens in North America. But then again, why would Chinese mythology be more impenetrable than say... Spider-Man?
I don't know. I'd like people to speculate if a non-American movie will ever make $1 billion worldwide, and with significant numbers from other countries.
Yes. Crocodile Dundee was an independent Australian film that was a WW blockbuster. It is very hard though, as no other foreign film since Crocodile Dundee has duplicated that success.

Holy fuck are MCU/Disney fans fuming over this film.
Music to my ears.
Which is fine because I'm fuming about the success of Disney/Marvel.
It’s not going to gross Captain Marvel numbers, forget about Avengers: Endgame numbers. So, even if someone wanted to get mad about this movie (and I can’t imagine why anyone would), there is no logical reason to fume about this film.

The MCU worshippers want this to be the worst movie of all time...don't upset them
No one wants this movie to be the worst movie of all-time. Almost no one cares about this movie. People just can't help but comment on how badly this movie will perform. Personally, if it is released in the movie theater, I just hope Disney can earn their marketing expenses back. This thing has "money loser" written all over it.

#1 movie of all-time domestically: Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens
#1 movie of all-time WW: Avengers: Endgame
#1 movie of all-time domestically adjusted for inflation: Gone With the Wind

Eek hopefully it’s not an onslaught of youtubers.
People who have studied film would be a good start.
That's my problem with this idea. I am like Captain Craig. I don't ever read reviews to decide what movie to see. However, I understand that some people are different, and they do like to read reviews. But, what I can't understand, is how allowing people who are not professional reviewers to influence movie ratings provides any sort of help. Why is their uneducated opinion about movies any more valuable than anyone else's? By that standard, we should all be allowed to write reviews for Rotten Tomatoes and have our reviews count towards the score. Either the website is for professional reviewers or it is for everyone to write reviews. Having non-professionals write reviews doesn't make sense, and I don't see how it helps anyone decide what movie to see.

In all fairness, no one got banned. They just banned all the alternate accounts of one guy. If the rest of the Jim Gang was really just one guy with multiple accounts, then that is pretty sad.

The list has been updated to reflect the addition of Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me has been removed from the list.
-
I just realized that Dumbo is grossing more domestically than Godzilla: KOTM. That has to hurt WB. Personally, while I liked Dumbo, I liked Godzilla more.

The list has been updated to reflect the addition of The Lion King (2019).
Bruce Almighty has been removed from the list.

I can’t hear your laughter from the top of the box office. Sounds more like tears to me. Maybe watching the number 1 grossing movie of all-time, Avengers: Endgame, will cheer you up.
