  1. I am a little surprised Nemo opened to less than Beauty (5.6m) when Nemo's marketing campaign was so much stronger.I can't wait to see what The Master does next weekend.

Have to agree with the marketing push on Nemo, but my guess about why the opening was a little weaker would be that:1. Not as much time since the original run.2. 3D-ing and original 2D computer animated film doesn't have the novelty or effect as doing the same on tradition animation. Still am thinking about seeing Nemo, since it's a Pixar favorite. :)Would love to see those early weekend estimates hold for EX2 and BL.
  2. More bad news for Bourne....SK and Russia both are looking at a big drop this weekend.This weekend projections:European markets = 3.5mSK - 1.0m (-76%)TBL- 0.3m (-76%)rest - 3.7m (-50%)Total - 8.5m(Are any other markets opening?)I think 125m without China looks more realistic now.

    WTF!? That is not good...
  3. slow day huh? It's already 3pm in sf and the numbers thread is still on the first page. Drops are on par with last years drops so no big surprise I guess. Want to see some big bumps for Tuesday. Good for Raiders of the Lost Ark. hopefully I'll see a nicely filled theater if I make it tonight.
  4. Perhaps I've over-estimated that, but to me China will make $25m up until Sunday. Which means $127.4m, so it only needs $27.6m from new openings of South Korea, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Vietnam, and 2nd week holdovers from Monday-Sunday for Brazil, Germany, NZ, Australia, and then all the other holdovers. I can't see it making less than $155m by the end of Sunday overseas. In terms of where it ends, I say $240m-250m overseas seems to be an educated guess just looking over the numbers. After this weekend it has no more major openings apart from Japan on Oct. 20. Add in the US gross and it goes above $320m or thereabouts.

Definitely a successful sequel if it ends up 50M above EX1 WW. OS saves the day. :)
  5. So this weekend has opening Vietnam, South Korea, Slovakia and Czech Republic. So the actual intl weekend gross will not be as high as the past three, but the intl total after this weekend should be good. It's got weekdays from the first week in Brazil, Germany, New Zealand and Australia, plus their 2nd weekends. Plus it has a whole week from China to come. Should be near $155m after the weekend mainly due to China. It looks as though it will disappoint in Korea.

53M made since last BOM update. Nice jump. :) So 250 seems to be within reach (heh hard to tell with staggered release dates) is 300 in the cards?
  6. LOL it's the staggered release dates that makes os hard to calculate.. It really needs to have a breakout somewhere. So far it's done well in UK, Phili, and Australia but hasn;t really broken out anywhere except in the Phililipines. It opens puts up decent numbers then fades. We'll see how this goes.

Well at least the staggered release dates are stringing us along. :P. and there's still a chance for a surprise with the remaining countries.
  7. This will get a China release.

That's some good news at least but when will it be released? I didn't see anything on imdb. Only reference I saw was some news article saying that TR and BL may be released at the same time in September.

That is a bad worldwide number.

Yeah hard to spin it any other way. Maybe the 150 excludes China and if BL is released there we could get closer to 300.
