  1. Presales are continuing to sell like crazy at work! It's going to be an insane weekend! So excited to work pretty much every day of it haha!
  2. Amazing for The Dressmaker, that puts $15m-$20m in sight! I'd be pegging Spectre to barely reach $10m, but I'm in the states so I don't really have a good feel for it.
  3. It's been on my radar for a few months, definitely thought it was going to do decent numbers. Pretty star-studded cast with Kate Linslet, Hugo Weaving, Liam Hemsworth and Sarah Snook, and its been pushed pretty hard.
  4. So I had a look around the main theatres in Melbourne from Village and Hoyts. Here is a rough breakdown of showtimes, sessions of 50% (including sell outs) and sessions over 90%. Showtimes: 69 Sessions over 50%: 35 Sessions over 90%: 15
  5. We have sold quite a few tickets today for Star Wars. We're currently sitting at 54% of the admits that HP7's midnights achieved, and at 65% if it's gross. I'll be bringing regular updates about how it's going! Also Bridge of Spies should win the weekend at this rate.
  6. Melbourne IMAX is running a constant 24 hours until Sunday. We're over 50% of the way to HP7.2 midnight.. With 29 hours of sales!
  7. We already have planned the same number of screens as we did for HP7.2, and those were mostly added in the last few days. We're about 40% of the way to beating its final midnight admits already. Obviously midnight screenings have become more common since (We basically had none between SW3 and HP6/Twilight), but it's still out of this world impressive!
  8. Star War tickets are already on sale, and they're selling fast! We have already sold more tickets than any midnight since the last Harry Potter.
  9. Absolutely horrendous opening weekend ahead for The Walk. Came 7th on Thursday and will drop even further once we hit the real weekend. The Martian still way ahead at first with what looks like another 20% drop.
  10. The Walk won't do well this weekend in my opinion.. There is nothing to grab in the audience! Should be another good weekend for The Martian
  11. Yeah WOM isn't at Gravity level I think yet, but it's definitely very strong!
  12. Friday numbers: The Martian $1.6m ($2.93m) The Intern $530k ($940k) Oddball $480k ($7.30m) Pixels $470k ($10.95m) Pan $430k ($4.64m)
  13. Today will be inflated with the public holiday in Victoria, going to be a big weekend!
  14. Inside Out back in to the top 20 with the school holidays!
  15. For the weekend it's looking like: Pixels $2.15m Pan $2.12m Everest $2.08m Oddball $1.80m Maze Runner $1.75m We'll see how my Sunday predictions go!
  16. Friday numbers for the top 5! Pixels $580k ($7.32m) Pan $520k ($1.09m) Oddball $510k ($3.80m) Everest $490k ($5.69m) Maze Runner $450k ($9.51m)
  17. Pixels managed to hold on to the top spot yesterday with Pan and Oddball just behind. It's going to be a busy weekend! Pixels $605k ($6.74m) Pan $570k ($570k) Oddball $540k ($3.29m) Maze Runner $405k ($9.06m) Everest $403k ($5.20m) The Visit $283k Sciario $280k
  18. Everest looking at around $2.8-3m, Maze Runner $2.5m, Pixels $1.6m, SOC $1.3m and Oddball around $0.9m.
  19. Thursday-Saturday totals (weekend predictions) Maze Runner $2.68m ($3.7m) Straight Outta Compton $1.75m ($2.3m) Pixels $1.4m ($2.1m) The rest will be under $350k. Very week Sunday in Melbourne due to the lovely 26C day!
  20. I think all three next weekend are aiming for high $2m's maybe just over $3m.
  21. Friday hit $1.18m for a $2.17m total! It's very much a night film so don't expect a massive increase today though.
  22. Box office for the weekend. Pretty slow week... Vacation $1.65m Southpaw $1.54m Trainwreck $1.26m ($11.34) Mission Impossible $1.09m ($13.54m) Hitman $990k
