That statement is the wrong move.
He was not "found innocent." It is debatable whether he was "cleared."
FoxS is trying to save their money with spin.
I can't pay to see this movie.

61% drop for SS called exactly by Tele last night.

CACW convinced me that the ceiling if my beloved MCU has probably formed.
It was critically successful, core fans really liked it, new Spider-Man, Black Panther debuted, huge opening and it is at $407m.
I want to believe Infinity War can break $500m if everything falls right, but it's harder to see.
-
If SS hits about $302m domestic, that would put the DCEU at a $307m average. That's where the MCU is through 13 films.

Y'all are forgetting Lars and the Real Girl.

Cocho is already composing her anti-Dr. Strange rants.

Oh, sorry.
1) HA isn't getting past $14-15 million.
2) Late August and September aren't barren, but the path for a minor breakout is there.
3) Obama's popularity is high and he's getting reevaluated in the face of polarizing choices from the major parties.
4) Political movies are pretty hit-and-miss, but this looks to mostly be a love story.

Indy love story > hateful "documentary"

No weekend estimates for Tarzan and Central Intelligence.

I'm a Marvel stan. I would like to be a DC stan. I can go chapter and verse on what the best iteration of the Red Tornado or the Blue Beetle is.
Still, GL was bad. I love GL about the movie was really bad. MOS was fine. BVS was bad. SS was bad.
(Nolan Batman is great.)
People shouldn't be mad at critics. They should be mad at the restaurant that gives us overcooked burger when selling steak.

Hey, yo!
Captain America just got a little theater boost, making a shot at Hunger Games and IM3 in the domestic charts sort of plausible.
-
The dismissal of Dr. Strange's chances is eerily reminiscent of the dismissals of GOTG and Ant-Man.
Eventually, an MCU movie will really struggle, but I see $200m domestic for Dr. Strange.

What do you mean by the Relativity route?

About 600 movies are documented on BOM each year.
Are people not finding anything in those? I live in a pretty small market and about 125-150 releases come here.
I get it if you don't like CBMs, but it seems like the frustration is misguided.

Give it to Captain America to get it past IM3.

Cap will clear 400. It will pass 395 this weekend.
It is four million ahead of IM3's pace. That ended at 409.

MCU movie legs
As others have posted, legs get worse as series go on (with a minor exception).
OW as percentage of domestic gross...
Iron Man - 31, 41, 42.6
Thor - 36.3, 41.5
Cap - 36.8, 36.6, 45 or so
Avengers - 33.3, 41.7
That's a pretty strong pattern. No sequel on Hulk. GOTG and Ant-Man have a shot to move up on gross, but still follow this patten.
I'm a big fan of these movies and attend OW if not opening night. From deep in the forest, I think these movies are doing well story-wise. WOM seems less of an issue for MCU.

Points to whoever said that CBM fatigue is more like cbm saturation.
Three of the top five domestic and WW are CBMs. Suicide Squad and Dr. Strange may well benefit from the open space.
As an MCU fanboy, I'm disappointed by CACW's legs. 400/1200 isn't cold comfort though.

"Cleared" has no real legal meaning. Certainly, the alleged victim's family doesn't see him as cleared.
FoxS doubled down on their investment.
