This one just doesn't have any flair whatsoever. The concept and the story are interesting but the film-making is lacking (if I'm being generous) which makes the whole affair boring. 5/10

Loved it, best of the original movies for sure. I was really invested in the story and the action sequences were very well executed and tense. Great send-off to a great cast. 9/10

But it's not only a comedy and I thought that the parts that weren't comedic didn't work at all. I can get over the ridiculous plot, but the movie just didn't make me care about the point of their whole mission, you know, saving the Earth I know that a big part of that is the age and the budget but I don't think that's a valid excuse for failing to deliver good suspense. I agree that it's a great comedy, but it's a comedy for 30 minutes tops and the other parts really tend to drag. I also agree that it was good to have the environmental message, even if its delivery was way on the nose It's a movie I really enjoyed but I doubt I'll ever watch again, except maybe some of the fish out of water scenes.

"I was Bourne into battle"

What a wonderful movie this is. Hail Justin Lin!

I gotta say that this was very refreshing in contrast to Abrams' oh-look-it's-action-beat-after-action-beat fests. It's amazing that the director of Fast & Furious movies had to come in to bring this series a bit of much needed breathing space. The movie works like a charm and it's mostly because of great writing and wonderful characters and their relationships. Every member of the crew got their share in the spotlight and I feel that was something the first two movies (especially STID) could have improved on. The action was solid (Enterprise destruction was great) and the movie went by like a breeze. All in all, I can't remember when was the last time I left the theater this happy and this is definitely my #1 movie of the year so far. 9/10
