You’re seeing animation produced globally thats fantastic, and somehow doesn’t manage to cost $200m. There’s enough evidence to tell you animated movies made cheaper can surpass that of expensive productions. I, as a viewer, truly cannot tell you what’s going into these Pixar movies that requires it to cost $100m more than Mario and Spider-Man. -
But it can make them profitable.

Don't WB have the most amount of content on TV than any other studio? HBO still puts out their one or two shows per week. Nothing has really changed here.

The Bad Guys was the blueprint for the future of original animation. It cost $70m. If it was Disney it would cost $200m and be considered a BO disaster. That Ruby Octopus movie looks like it’s shaping up to be a failure. I guarantee Universal won’t lose as much money as Disney will with these Pixar flicks.

There’s still no quick $100m X-Men cartoon. No Star Wars cartoon. Look at live-action even: an adult R-rated Hannah Montana sequel at $20m-30m, through Fox, could pick up a lot of interest.

Original animated movies are DOA right now and Disney keeps spending $200m on them. Sony have gone far enough to sell all their original toons straight to Netflix. They sold another just a couple of weeks ago.

I think it’s current RT score is pretty fair in all honesty. As for CinemaCon, it’s an industrial conference of cinema executives, not movie critics. They watched a SuperHero movie with a bunch of Easter Eggs and assumed “OMG, we have another NWH smash on our hands. It’s gonna be HUGE. People will wanna see it twice” etc.

Those are comic book sales. To the public, characters like Blade, Punisher, X-Men, and The Fantastic Four we're way more know than The Avengers.
