DC Fans when critics don't like their movies
Y'know, insulting the other side sets more fuel to the fire. Do you really want to continue these flame wars?

At the beginning of the summer I thought.... along with everybody else that this is pointless and it's going to tank badly. But for some reason the closer we get to it the more reviews I read about it and the more commercials I see for it I just have this nagging feeling that's going to do way better then I think anyways think it will. Yes it should Miss double digits this weekend. But part of me is thinking it's going to do something crazy like open to 20 million.
There are reviews for Ben-Hur out already?

So does the domestic trailer actually reveal too much like it was rumored to?

Studios should release their crappy movies 1 week after DCEU films debut, it seems the critics will give rave reviews to any movie who can
push DCEU down.Oh yeah, I agree. I'm amazed that God's Not Dead 2 was given such rave reviews. And Meet the Blacks getting stellar praise? Those darn critics.

Trek and Bourne are around the same quality for me.

I hate it too. But its also the movie thay makes me fall in love with McAvoy. So sometimes, that gives me conflicted feelings.
I know right? McAvoy's able to give a character that had so little personality, and gave him so much likability, warmth, and heart. It sucks that he's still so underrated in Hollywood.

Oh come on. It deserved every bit of praise it got. Better than that shitty Juno movie that everyone seemed to like despite its low quality.
Well if the characters actually had motivations that made sense and had more personality than just, "nice James McAvoy", "precocious Saorise Ronan", and "sad Keira Knightley", maybe I'd sing a different tune. Everything else about it is great, but its main cog is just...ugh.

Yeah, such an ART FILM THAT WAS DIRECTED BY THE GUY THAT MADE...
Okay he had a solid track record with affecting dramas like Pride and Prejudice and Atonement before doing shit like The Soloist and Anna Karenina, and of course, PAN.
Atonement's really not that good, tbh. How it was nominated for Best Screenplay, let alone Best Picture is baffling.

So what if it flopped?? AMAZING MOVIES FLOP. BLADE RUNNER WAS A FLOP.
And any reasonable person would know that Pan would be a massive failure.
Pan wasn't supposed to make that much money anyway. It's an art film.

At least JJL HAS ACTUAL TALENT AND DOESNT PICK SHITTY PROJECTS. Like who does Mara think she was by deciding to be on fucking PAN.
While Mara did Pan in between those two films, Leigh did THE MACHINIST, SYNECDOCHE NEW YORK, SPECTACULAR NOW, AND ANOMALISA. Meanwhile, Morgan is going to make BANK at the box office. Just you wait.
Look, Mara just thought Pan could give her some franchise material. But a true auteur realized franchises are stupid, and she should be remembered for picking projects that Oscar voters will cream all over for, giving her way more attention from the GA. Anomalisa was a flop, lol (character break: Although it shouldn't have been )

FUCK NO. She was awful in Pan and that obviously shows she didn't deserve any of this. She has to keep a consistent acting record in her movies.
Jennifer Jason Leigh should've won, but of course, the Oscars have a Tarantino bias. Sigh
Hell no. People don't even remember who JJL is. What was the last thing she was in that people actually watched? Road to Perdition LOL. Mara's last big hit was Dragon Tatoo, but Lion's gonna explode in the box office, and she'll usurp J-Law's throne. HAIL QUEEN MARA!

Why can't we have fights over comedies and Oscar-bait dramas . It'd be much more interesting than fucking CBM arguments.
Alright, I'll start: Rooney Mara deserved Supporting Actress last year. COME AT ME DANISH GIRL FANBOYS!

Fun fact: Bad Moms was originally going to be a Paramount movie, and now this movie's going to gross more than every Paramount movie this year sans Star Trek.

Guys, Suicide Squad dropped 79.4% from Friday to Friday. That's terrible. For example, other movies that have done this poorly:
1. Captain America: Civil War -74%
2. Twilight Series ~75%
3 The Dark Knight Rises -76.6%
4. Batman v Superman -81.6%
5. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 -84%
What do those movies all have in common? Toxic word of mouth? I was going to say huge previews on Thursday, built-in fan base, and all that jazz, but nah...toxic word of mouth it is.
Also, another interesting point to ignore, Suicide Squad had crazy Thursday preview numbers AND Tmobile Free Ticket Fridays. Sure, the major drops seem to be associated in comparison to that first Friday, which just so happened to be special in at least two ways, but hey, let's forget that, and project the anomalies into generalities, just like the best numerical analysts.
So to continue its flop status, like such other flops, Suicide Squad could do anywhere between 15m -21m Saturday, depending if it's WOM is like Twilight or if it's like Dark Knight Rises. Can't wait to find out!
We get it.

So today:
Pete's Dragon first or Sausage Party?
(Kinda disappointed with Pete's Dragon opening but eh, at least it only had a $65 million budget.)
Coin Flip?Edit: Just go Pete's then Sausage, since the latter will probably have a bigger crowd at that time, and comedies are always great when there's a big crowd.

Dang for Pete's Dragon. Was seriously thinking that would break out, but I guess not. Oh well, I'm still mad at Disney so they can suck it at the box office.
Mad at Disney? What did they do?

Tuesday Numbers | 6.25 M SUICIDE SQUAD
in Numbers and Data
Posted
Well it makes sense. If I had to take my kid to a movie, and I had to choose between a Monday or a Tuesday, I'd choose the day that would cost me $13 instead of $15-17.
