  1. Last time we had this calendar configuration was way back in 2010. Tron: Legacy saw a 92% jump from the previous day and about 49% from the previous Saturday. Overall second weekend was -56%. In 2004, Series of Unfortunate Events saw a Xmas Eve-Day jump of 53%, 62% the previous Saturday, and overall a 58% weekend drop. Of course, both movies had more muted reception (B+ Cinemascore), so it's not entirely a perfect correlation.
  2. As an aside, and I know this shows my age again, it was a genuine surprise to see both Aasif Mandvi and Emily Deschanel when I rewatched this. It's always fun to go back to movies you haven't seen since you were like 10 and notice all the celebrities you never heard of as a kid pop up.

  7. I mean it's well-known Tom Holland loves to eat gyros, so it's understandable why Greek critics are more favorable towards the film.

  9. I mean I guess it can probably thrive as a Hulu/Star Original Movie. Better than nothing I suppose.
  10. I'm honestly still confused why they went down the prequel route here. Nobody cares about Kingsman lore and a lot of folks fell off Golden Circle anyways. Why not satiate the poor saps like me that liked Golden Circle and give us one more Eggsy/Harry adventure? You were going to decline no matter what and the series was going to end after this movie anyways (this was in development months after the Disney-Fox deal was announced, so it's not like Matthew Vaughn didn't know his franchise was on shaky ground). Just give the Kingsman fans some closure with the characters, put out a trilogy box set, and call it a day.
  11. And if I guess we're doing this to pass the time, after rewatching all the live-action ones again, I still think '02 is unmatched here. Norman of course is beautiful, wonderful, and pure as he always is (God I love him sooooooooo much), but everything else just clicks and is so tightly-crafted and paced and stylized. It's the perfect blueprint for any superhero origin story and few have really matched it.
  12. The funniest thing in the first Amazing Spider-Man is how Peter just let some random convenience store owner get robbed because he was two cents shy to buy some milk. This loser jerkoff deserved to have his uncle die.
  13. It will always make me laugh how Irrfan Khan literally just...disappears halfway through the movie lmao. What happened to him?
