  1. Also The Little Mermaid won't be hit by the "anti-wokers". They have no power on a movie's success or popularity. If anything, I'm confident that it could rank second for the year, only behind Indiana Jones.
  2. I mean...yeah. Apart from Strange and Panther (please don't start a debate on how they actually underperformed, I don't want to read that), Love and Thunder was considered a critical and commercial dud, Lightyear and Strange World are the biggest bombs ever for their respective studios, the only 20th Century films that did above expectations were Barbarian and Bob's Burgers, which had basically the absolute floor for expectations. I guess Searchlight ended up okay since The Menu's doing solid business and The Banshees of Inisherin will probably reach 10M. The latter's not good compared to what awards fare did pre-COVID, but sadly we're in a world where audiences hate movies that aren't just toy commercials, so take what you can get. Even so, there's no obvious huge winner, even if I think Strange and Panther did solid (again, not trying to start an argument, don't even try). All the other studios had something big to crow about except Disney...well, at least until Avatar drops next week.
  3. Puss in Boots: The Last Wish Greater Philadelphia Area Seat Report T-25 and Counting Sellouts Showings Seats Sold Total Seats Perct Sold TOTALS 0 73 479 11535 4.15% Total Seats Sold Today: 155 Comp 0.333x of Sing 2 T-25 (3.24M) To clarify, Puss' Early Access numbers tally up to 467 tickets. And compared to Sing 2's 1,408 tickets, that's...0.332x of the film's 1.6M gross. So...531K. Early Access is always faulty and hard to determine when it comes to final opening/final gross, but I think it shows, at least now, that it's not as anticipated as Sing 2 at the moment. Could change of course!

  5. That actually is the case. Crossing the 100M or 200M threshold means you get better deals and revenue when it comes to selling your movie to cable TV or streaming services. That's why movies like Passengers or Spectre typically get fudged to those marks if the studio has the option to. Don't know how important that is these days, since studios now only play their movies on their own cable networks or streaming services, but that was certainly an important incentive in 2018. @TalismanRing explained this a few years ago and I'm sure she can explain it better than I ever could.
  6. I actually really liked Taylor Russell in this. Don't think I recognized her from anything I've seen, but I hope she does more, because she really delivered great stuff in her role.
  7. I shared a tired bunny GIF when I tracked Devotion/Strange World/Avatar/Puss to symbolize my exhaustion, then just kinda wanted to share bunny GIFS every day to make people laugh and enjoy the cuteness. I'll probably stop them once Avatar comes out lol

  10. Only three days left to submit your Coens list to me. Remember to PM or it doesn't count. We got a good number of lists, but more is always better, and your vote can change the rankings just like that. If you already voted, thank you.
