It's a little bit concerning to me guys.
  3. I'm this close to just making Timothee fancams and bombarding all the Dune naysayers with them in a few weeks lol
  4. Moderation @Firepower this bit of yours about true objectivity and how you think you have the objective truth based on your own subjective opinions is getting old. Stop it.
  5. I still love Michelle Williams bluntly stating she signed on for Venom just for the money. Literal queen shit
  6. Didn't get to see Frankenstein, but I'm with you on Dracula. The big issue I have is the lack of a score, because it makes things way more stilted than it should be. I do like the atmosphere and Bela Lugosi however, it's no wonder his performance would be the blueprint for decades to come. I got it yet again at Newark this past Friday. The silent reactions from a crowd of 35-40 year olds was very amusing. We didn't ban EmpireCity for being right. We banned him because he was being a dick. Being right doesn't give you any excuse to be disrespectful to others or the staff, and we aren't letting this type of behavior slide with people...or at least we should, but insider access is apparently the one justifiable metric for some folks. Honestly, he's damn lucky he gets access to the numbers, because the only reason people defended his bullying behavior is because they can't imagine a world where he doesn't tell us what the box office numbers are. And I don't remember you ever getting warning points or a threadban for saying Affleck wanted to play Batman again. I have checked your extensive history of warnings and points, and there is nothing here that indicates otherwise. But if I were to guess, I'm 99.99% sure it was because you were being a dick. Because we're totally fine with people giving different opinions, so long as you don't be a dick about it. Oh he knows. He's just bitter we're holding folks accountable for their actions.
  7. joke /jōk/ noun a thing that someone says to cause amusement or laughter, especially a story with a funny punchline. "she was in a mood to tell jokes"

But two bad days in a row...I can only hope the last few days really ramp up in the end. Otherwise, Mickey's Law really is a cruel, cruel beast.
  10. I've already talked about my concerns about the specialty market and adult moviegoers not coming back, but...I'm not really sure why people had high hopes for Titane? Even with its Palme win, the movie's still a weird French-language body horror with a premise that's not going to appeal to the masses. Raw didn't even hit a million back in 2017.
  11. That decade difference is a clue there. Nostalgia is a huge selling point, so Warner was likely banking on Sopranos nostalgia, which is pretty potent. And it wasn't like the series remained unpopular, especially after HBO Now/HBO Max made it an easier show to watch and stream, and probably didn't cost that much to make, so it's understandable why they would want to give it a shot. And while Netflix metrics are hazy and weird, Irishman still landed as one of Netflix's most-watched movies and one of their biggest overall hits in 2019.
  12. Release dates feel a bit more set in stone at this point, though it still seems ridiculous at some points, especially when it comes to...all of DC's movies. But now, some updated predictions 1. Avatar 2: 800M 2. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever: 650M 3. Jurassic World: Dominion: 425M 4. Thor: Love and Thunder: 410M 6. Doctor Strange 2: 390M 7. The Marvels: 375M 8. The Batman: 325M 9. Aquaman 2: 295M 10. Lightyear: 285M The Flash: 270M Mario: 250M Indiana Jones 5: 230M Top Gun 2: 215M Mission: Impossible 7: 215M Into the Spider-Verse 2: 190M Black Adam: 185M Turning Red: 180M John Wick 4: 155M Nope: 140M Minions: The Rise of Gru: 130M Scream 5: 120M Puss in Boots 2: 115M Halloween Ends: 110M DC League of Super Pets: 100M Creed III: 100M Sonic the Hedgehog 2: 100M Morbius: 95M Salem's Lot: 95M Fantastic Beasts 3: 90M Elvis: 90M Uncharted: 85M Bros: 80M Transformer: Rise of the Beasts: 80M Bob's Burgers: 65M
  13. Never forget that Mickey's Law is the one constant in the universe. (Spidey's a Disney movie in Sony's clothing and Venom has tricked the masses into thinking it's Disney/MCU, so those do not perish under Mickey's Law)
  14. To be fair, the first Addams earned a B+. Makes sense to me, because the first film was BOR-ING. I'm terrified about the idea of the sequel being worse.
  15. Au contraire. I already talked about this in the tracking thread, but the Venom movies stand out for having the aesthetic and tone of awkward early-to-mid 2000s blockbusters. It's a bizarre, yet oddly nostalgic and charming kind of film that isn't made anymore that helps make the Venom titles stand out. So yeah, Affleck Daredevil and Cage Ghost Rider would totally benefit from that.
  16. I didn't really care for the film, but I feel the biggest issue with Newark was mismarketing and a bit of a failure to understand what people wanted to see. The ads hyped up this up as a look at young Tony Soprano like the movie was all about him. But instead it's largely on characters who never appeared in the show on the first place while Tony's just a side character who we barely follow. This would be like if the Sex and the City movie was from the perspective of Mr. Big instead of Carrie and the rest of the women. It's just going to lead to only hardcore fans getting into it and a lot of casual fans and newcomers disappointed.
  17. Halloween Kills Greater Philadelphia Area Seat Report T-13 and Counting Sellouts Showings Seats Sold Total Seats Perct Sold TOTALS 0 22 283 4052 6.98% Comp 0.704x of A Quiet Place 2 Thu+Fri T-13 (13.63M) 3.369x of The Conjuring 3 T-13 (33.03M) 0.360x of F9 T-13 (2.56M) 1.029x of The Suicide Squad T-13 (4.22M) 0.419x of Venom 2 T-13 (4.86M) So yeah the horror comps are pretty wonky, because those include full-on Fridays. And while I tried to add in some adult-centric tentpoles, those aren't very good either. It'll probably be a real hazy cloud until we add in more horror comps the weekend of. But honestly, this seems really, really good. While a decline should still happen, so far things don't indicate any major drop, which is above my expectations. Even before the pandemic I was feeling 35M or something for its opening. Really thought the new one had no hook since the last one was all focused on nostalgia, but I'm glad to be proven wrong here.
