  1. Honestly I'm not fully convinced the Max release hurt it that much. I get that something like GvK or Conjuring or whatever fits the theatrical experience people want nowadays. But just looking at Charlie's Google Trends, even when the first trailer dropped pre-COVID, it didn't seem it got that much attention from people. It very well could be that the film was just not that exciting to the GA and wasn't going to be a big seller anyways. I know that might be frustrating to read, but that stuff happens sometimes.
  2. Pretty sure this was already dead a while back, but it's kind of a bummer Raya won't reach Tenet. Kind of thought it would have been nice to see after such a bad opening. Oh well.

  4. F9 Greater Philadelphia Area Seat Report T-13 and Counting (Thu) Sellouts Showings Seats Sold Total Seats Perct Sold TOTALS 1 53 785 8686 9.04% Total Showings Added in the Last Two Days: 1 Total Seats Added in the Last Two Days: 3,090 Total Seats Sold in the Last Two Days: 83 Comp 0.813x of Godzilla vs. Kong T-13 Before Release (7.89M) 1.953x of A Quiet Place Part II's Thu+Fri T-13 Before Release (37.82M) So to clarify two things: 1. Yes, I forgot to report sales yesterday. Long story short, family came over, I got both distracted and exhausted from it that I could barely stay awake, and then I passed out when I tried to tally up tickets. Sorry for the incomplete picture, but this stuff happens, and I hope you guys understand that I was a bit too busy last night. 2. The massive seats jump may seem confusing. Basically, Regal theaters here have just shifted their social distancing policy and are now allowing zero social distancing at all. F9 is reaping those rewards here. AMC is still using social distancing well into Black Widow's opening, but that could change once we get closer to release. And now, onto the real big boy.
  5. Clarke and Harrington both have Marvel gigs. They will be set for life for the next 7 years.
  6. So I don't think I ever had that specific experience, because I'm a basic bitch that likes seeing pictures move, but I do remember having an experience similar to that when I saw Little Women a second time. My aunt died last January and it genuinely hit me like a truck for about two days. She was there for me just as much as my parents were and I was this close to just leaving this site for a while. But I decided to catch a LW screening the day after and it really was therapeutic. Both because the movie is phenomenal and the whole message of "the people you love will always be with you and you being a person keeps them alive" really was the thing I needed to hear and why movies are dope as h*ck. And honestly, looking back on all this, it's for the best my aunt died this early into 2020.
  7. @charlie Jatinder @WandaLegion the weekend thread is live
  8. I just tracked only Thursday’s ticket sales for nothing I guess. Life sucks fam 🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃

  10. Cool. The actual numbers from those openings were also good for pandemic standards. Tom and Jerry, GvK, Mortal Kombat, and Conjuring 3 all had some of the best pandemic debuts. Not sure why you’re trying to downplay this stuff. Regardless, we’re all going off topic here. Take this convo to the Classic Conversation thread folks
  11. @Porthos @Inceptionzq @WrathOfHan Papa Feige has arrived. Good luck
  12. Oh I wasn’t thinking 50M. I assumed like 35M as well and I felt that would be a very potent debut
  13. Seemed like a movie that had just about everything going for it. LMM is bigger than ever, musicals have been a more consistently solid box office genre, Jon Chu is fresh off Crazy Rich Asians, has crowd pleasing elements aplenty, it has the best reviews of the year. Seemed like an easy box office winner to me
