I'm hoping for better numbers of course, but I can see it holding up okay.

    Lego Movie 2 had advance screenings in 550 theaters, and did about 600K, on the way to 1.5M previews. I think Onward going above Lego in less theaters (470) is pretty solid, especially since this doesn't really have an established audience apart from the Pixar brand, though that doesn't necessarily indicate breakout or instant hit

    Decided to check Onward's advance showings today for the hell of it, and for future advance showing comparisons. Sellouts Showings Seats Sold Total Seats Perct Sold TOTALS 2 4 574 607 94.56% Of course, I have no actual advance screenings to compare it to, and while it helps that only 4 theaters are showing it in the area, I do feel like this is a very solid total, and having two sellouts shows there is enough interest. And just for fun, I'm gonna do some comps to movies that had full Thursday previews. This is not something to take seriously, and is just me having fun. And hey, maybe if these numbers pan out, we'll have a good laugh about it. But honestly, I'm kind of disappointed with this number. I feel like being at least close to 100 tickets on the first day would have been much better. But of course, it's not out just yet. We'll see how the next few days unfold.
