The Current War, according to my EW Fall Movie Preview mag is now releasing on November 24, Mary Magdalene's old date, with Mary not even getting a mention.
Also, Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool has a release date on December 15 (unless that was already announced beforehand, which in that case, my bad)
Also, Mudbound will release on November 17th.

I got my EW today, and there are some interesting date changes.
The Current War is now in Mary Magdalene's old slot, while Magdalene is nowhere to be seen.
I guess the movie is getting #Weinsteined

I'm trying to decide between Annabelle movie (didn't see any of the other Conjuring/Anabelle movies), Glass Castle, or Big Sick for the weekend.
Big Sick. It's likely shedding theaters soon and it's a pretty enjoyable movie.

Going back to 1998 for a moment: I used to be one of the people angry that SPR didn't win, but I've swung around -- it's more fun to just watch the pro-SPR crowd yell.
Besides, it's not even the best WWII movie released that year.
Agreed. Life is Beautiful is a modern-day masterpiece.

Interesting that Blunt was originally cast as The Black Widow in Iron Man 2,but had to drop out due to pregnancy, and was in serious negotiations for Captain Marvel but had too many scheduling problems.....
I thought she dropped the Black Widow role because she was contracted to film Gulliver Travels and couldn't break from it.

I swear you guys must be in my brain LOL because if I hadn't of gotten any requests the three movies I would have done outside the top 10 for 1999 were American Beauty which is my 5th favorite film of all time, Notting Hill which I actually saw by myself on my wedding day 3 hours before I was getting married, and American Pie which is among the best teen movie out there and certainly the best teen movie out there post 80s.
Alright then...how about Wild Wild West? It has a hint of infamy attached to it for its commercial and critical failure, in spite of everything seeming like it would be one of the biggest hits of the year.
-
American Pie would be intersting. I'm pretty sure most insiders thought it wouldn't be the sleeper hit it was and I'm pretty sure it was the biggest high school movie since the John Hughes era.

Hot take: Oscar bait is a really stupid name people use to denounce otherwise decent-to-great dramas or biopics in an attempt to sound above films made for "snooty elites," and I hate how it's used as a pejorative term, as if making a good movie that appeals to Academy voters and gives good directors and actors a chance to tell compelling and important stories is somehow a bad thing.

Also of note animation-wise, 1998 was the first year where non-Disney animated films became blockbusters, with both The Rugrats Movie and The Prince of Egypt grossing over $100M in the domestic box office. The success of both signaled animated movies could be successful without having the name of the most popular animation brand and helped usher in a new wave of animated movies. While Rugrats really only spawned a brief trend of animated features based on popular TV cartoons, like The Powerpuff Girls and Spongebob, Prince of Egypt helped put Dreamworks Animation on the map, a studio that later created an absolutely incredible hit streak of movies and in a way created every other non-Disney animation studio that's still running today.
Without these movies, animation probably wouldn't be such the big moneymaker it is today, making Rugrats and Egypt low-key some of the most important works in animation history.

Honestly, I don't even wanna watch this trailer. The 1 minute I got at Dunkirk gave me plenty to chew on, and I don't want the good stuff to be spoiled.

Loving Vincent just recently got its release date, and I think there's the possibility of that film sneaking in.

http://deadline.com/2017/08/the-dark-tower-tv-series-interest-movie-exit-survey-1202144404/
QuoteThere was an unusual question in the exit survey for The Dark Tower this weekend, with moviegoers asked whether they were interested in a Dark Tower TV series. It was included in the survey by MRC, which is set to co-produce the series with Sony TV. The result was that 83% of The Dark Tower film audience indicated that they were definitely/probably interested in a TV series.
“That is incredibly encouraging; what it shows is that there is a very big, excited audience for the show,” said MRC co-CEO Modi. Wiczyk.
The viewer approval for the movie, which drew mixed reviews from critics was in the 70%+, lower than the percentage of viewers interested in a TV series. “People who have seen the movie are interested in a TV series whether or not they liked the movie; even if they didn’t like the movie, they were not turn off by that,”Wiczyk said.

So I just saw Dunkirk with the footage trailer. Pretty cool stuff, especially with the whole rising tension and rising voices in the first half with the calm J-Law.

Delayed yet again to March 15, 2019, merely a week before its original release date.
@That Floating Guy, we could possibly get the spiritual successor to Monster Trucks.

There goes the exhibition stocks. We knew this month would be bad at the box office, but this is like last weekend of August low. The Dark Tower despite being pummeled by critics, is currently looking to lead the box office for the weekend off of noon estimates with an opening day between $6M-$7M and a three-day between $17M-$19M, not a very good start for this mid-budget sized movie.
Warner Bros.’ Dunkirk is currently at $4M-$5M today with a weekend three of $14.5M to $16.5M. This film still has its Imax auditoriums in its control, and again, no surprise here if it overtakes Dark Tower depending on the audience reaction to Dark Tower. On the high-end, Dunkirk’s grasp will be $132.45M.
Sony’s The Emoji Movie is at $4M today for a $10M second weekend, -59% and running cume of on the high end of $47M, but Universal’s Girls Trip should beat it with $11M in weekend three. By Sunday Girls Trip will count $85M. It is easily the highest grossing comedy of the summer stateside and Malcolm D. Lee’s career.
Detroit from Oscar winning director Kathryn Bigelow is looking at around $3M today for a wide debut that’s within an estimated $7M-$10M.
Aviron Pictures’ Kidnap according to industry estimates is at $3.3M today for a $8.5M opening.
Focus Features/Sierra Affinity’s Atomic Blonde is eyeing $2.5M in its second Friday for a second three-day that’s between $7.5M-$9.5M, -53% for a 10-day of $35.3M.
20th Century Fox’s War for the Planet of the Apes is at $1.5M in its fourth Friday, and $5.2M over three, -51% with a running total of $129.4M.

I'm pretty sure the Disney's live-action Winnie the Pooh movie thread and the biopic Goodbye Christopher Robin thread got merged. Can you fix this up mods?
