  1. Tom Rothman hopes that knowing Bad Bunny will finally make his kids think he is cool @MrGamer
  2. Okay The Woman King looks fucking AMAZING you guys Gina can direct the hell out of a movie and I could not stan Viola harder if I wanted to.
  3. Davis is calling The Woman King her magnum opus.
  4. We are learning about The Woman King now which is the new Viola Davis and Gina Prince-Bythwood movie
  5. Revenant had Oscar buzz, which goes a long way in making even the most violent and un-crowdpleasing film imaginable a hit. My mom thought Shape of Water was the weirdest film in the world whenever she saw trailers and ads. Then she saw all the Oscar nominations, saw it, and loved it. She will always talk about how she hates horror movies every other day, but she saw Get Out because of its Oscar buzz. If Freddy Got Fingered got Oscar noms, she would be all over it.
  6. We're seeing some footage from Where The Crawdads Sing now
  7. This movie looks so awesome! Leitch is such an amazing action director
  8. Time for Bullet Train David Leitch is coming out.
  9. Sony should start any minute. Follow this liveblog right here. https://bleedingcool.com/movies/cinemacon-2022-sony-pictures-presentation-liveblog/
  10. Still kinda confused why we're all thinking Puss 2 is going low. Shrek's still a popular franchise and Quorum data already shows there's plenty awareness of this early on. I'm not expecting anything monstrous, but I don't see why ~140M isn't that hard to reach.
  11. Still mystified a movie called "Easter Sunday" is coming in August.
  12. Okay but like Joker and Black Panther were still socially and politically conscious features, which helped give them legitimacy as highbrow fare, and were both two of the highest-grossing films in history with significant box office milestones that made them the events of their year. The closest thing a Barbie movie could have from a "social" perspective, from what I can see, would probably be mocking its toy commercial existence a la Lego Movie and maybe a few feminist ideals, but I doubt it'll be anything super dramatic or profound, and more just satirical, funny gags. And I doubt it's making a billion dollars. I love Greta Gerwig too, but I feel like you guys are setting yourself up for disappointment if you honestly think this has any Oscar chances.
