Can I just say that I find it hilarious how the marketing for Earth to Echo has shifted from selling it as a found footage wannabe to an E.T. knock-off? Just look at the discrepancy between the film's two posters lol.

The outrage over the How I Met Your Mother finale earlier this year really made me wonder what it would've been like had Twitter existed when the Seinfeld finale aired. How they ended such a terrific series until that point on such a dreadful note is still beyond me.

I think the reason everyone (well, "everyone" being certain members here and other movie studios, I don't give a shit either way) is so angry about this particular case of box office reporting is because Paramount already has a questionable history going back to that "Puerto Rico" thing five years ago, as well as the fact that the actual is almost $100M on the dot (not $500,000 to $1M over that wouldn't make it look so skeptical), so if they had played their cards well and been less subtle about it, there wouldn't be such debate. Or who knows, maybe it did make the exact amount that it did and everyone is just running around like a headless chicken for no reason. Whatever.

To me, the greatest example of "studio fudging" will always be when Tangled randomly shot up a bunch and crossed $200M several months after it came out on DVD. That was just sheer hilarity right there.

If it was at all possible, this is an even funnier movie industry controversy than the "Alone Yet Not Alone" Song nomination scandal at the Oscars earlier this year.

I ended up skipping Transformers 4 because I figured I wouldn't enjoy it. Something tells me that was a smart decision.

LOL at whoever it is saying they will never see a Paramount movie ever again because of this. Melodramatic, much?

You all have to remember that the weekend the third movie opened was 4th of July weekend with the holiday falling on a Monday, so they didn't have to worry about "fudging" it over $100M since the 4-day weekend gave it a $100M+ opening minus the midweek bow since grosses were more spread out.

Wait a second, so Paramount is sticking to their guns saying that it did $100M exactly when it didn't? LOL Paramount, you are not too good at playing this "studio fudging" game.

The Rock easily remains Bay's best film. No question.
