  1. Now THAT'S bad. It's one thing to miss 3/4 minutes of a movie that doesn't contain much, but 20 minutes is way too much. If you're gone that long, you might as well leave.
  2. The only two times I walked out of movies in recent memory were The Monuments Men and Race. Both looked good from the trailers, but both were pretty awful and boring.
  3. I do want to watch a movie. I also don't want to fucking piss my pants while watching a movie. Even with the peetimes, I try and go as fast as possible to try and not miss anything. Also, I usually look at the peetimes before seeing the movie, so I can decided which one would be best.
  4. First of all, it's only turning the timer on at the very beginning, like after a logo fades. Second of all, I usually sit in the very back corner so as it doesn't reflect to anyone as well. Third of all, the notification is literally a small vibration. If you feel it in your pocket, just walk out, go to the bathroom, and read it while doing your business. I never take it out until I'm completely out of the theater.
  5. It usually does it during slow moments with little character or plot development, scenes where there's an unimpressive action scene, or scenes easy to sum up.
  6. I do that, but I usually drink a bottle of water or so while in the theater, and for 2 hour plus movies, it can be difficult to hold in my bladder. I don't use it for movies like Star Wars or Marvel movies though, if I have to go, I ignore it as best as fucking possible and try to get through.
  7. I don't see the issue with it..? When I press the timer, I turn down my brightness all the way, hold my phone close to my chest, and do it so it doesn't disturb anyone. It's only a vibration in your pocket, nothing loud or anything. I only read the summary in the bathroom too, I don't check it as I'm leaving the theater
  8. Oh, it doesn't disturb other people, trust me. It's only a vibration, no sound or anything. I think it's actually really handy. It saved my life a couple times when I had to use the bathroom really badly during a movie.
  9. They usually see it at the first showtime available (basically meaning on Thursday night) and multiple people go to different showings for different movies.
  10. RunPee is an app that actually shows what movies have end credits scenes and how long the credits roll for. Apparently, there is one after the end credits, and the credits run for 8 1/2 minutes. It also has times when it's okay to take a bathroom break in the movie, and gives you a vibration when it's happening (you start a timer when it tells you too). While you're in the bathroom, you can also read a brief summary on what's going on. It's actually a really handy app.
  11. Also: https://www.theguardian.com/books/2015/jul/08/the-girl-on-the-train-book-sales-record-paula-hawkins http://mobile.nytimes.com/blogs/artsbeat/2015/08/12/the-girl-on-the-train-chugs-past-3-million-in-sales/?referer= It it was about the same popularity as Gone Girl.
  12. And that's exactly what I'm predicting. Ticket price inflation alone could lead to an increase, but I think it could end up being more accessible for mainstream audiences with fantastic reviews.
  13. Yes, I am :). Usually I keep my expectations in check with most people's, but whenever I smell a breakout, I'll say it'll be a breakout. I predicted Deadpool could get to 230 M overall while many were expecting below 170M. Of course, I still under predicted, but it was a definitely a breakout I caught
  14. It can very well be this year's Gone Girl with strong advertising and great reviews. Also, Blunt could potentially bring some star power. It's also the same weekend that The Martian and Gone Girl opened. It's only competition is The Accountant, but that probably won't make as much money.
