Russia and Ukraine on May 3rd and China on May 11. As far as i know.
-
Sylvester Stallone for Creed 2
Hopefully he gets nominated and wins a oscar for one last time! He truly deserves it.

AIW had slowed a bit today. Morning shows were registering 20-30% occupancies some recording more than half. While the real growth has come from evening shows. PS looks good. Few fulls but mostly 70-80%. Overall good day considering its a working day and last long weekend of the summer is over!
IMAX continues its amazing run and finally it had a break today. 18/20 fulls. Night shows are already full with some having 10-15 seats left.
4DX 8/8 fulls today. PS for tomorrow looks very good 7/8 shows are 90% full while one is 70-80% full. It will record 56/56 fulls for the week!

For comparison, BP made 14.5, A1 made 45mil, Ultron made 26mil, CW made 24
Can it top TA in yen? $ looks impossible right considering 2012 ER was soo good that for every 100m yen gross in USD was 1.2m+ whereas now its less than a million for every 100m yen!
BP is done and dusted, ultron and CW easy task, TA looks doubtful?

AIW stays flat. AIW week 1 fig will be a culmination of last 3 marvel movies lifetime grosses in India. SMH,T:R, BP all 10m+ grossers,

Avengers - Infinity War Is Rock Steady On Tuesday
Avengers - Infinity War remained rock steady om Tuesday with collections in the 20 crore nett range which took its tally to a huge 135 crore nett apprx in five days. There was again a partial holiday on Tuesday which helped the collections in some parts of the country.
The partial holiday on Monday helped collections in the North and Cenreal India markets while on Tuesday it was West and South which got a boost due to the partial holiday. Thew film is now sure to be the highest grossing film ever not to be released on the major holidays as it sails pas the 200 crore nett mark. The 300 crore nett mark cannot be written of yet but it will depend on the fall today and more crucially where the second Friday lands.
The first four day collections of Avengers - Infinity War are as follows
Friday - 31,33,00,000
Saturday - 30,25,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 32,75,00,000 apprx
Monday - 20,50,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 20,00,00,000 apprx

There were 3 trailers shown namely:
Incredibles 2 - Some talk and laugh
Ant Man and the Wasp - Few murmurs
Deadpool 2 - Everybody started talkig about it for while even after the trailer was over! People Loved the DC remark
Crowd was receptive. Lots of whistles during Spideys, Thor's, CA entry.
This was fucking awesome! Never had too many goosebumps for SH movie in recent times. Thor:Ragnorak was the last i could think of but rest were just okay or good.
AIW could have been a movie where it could have confused audiences by showcasing too many characters in different universe. But there was no room for that!
Screenplay was tight. No boring moments at all. Movie's pace was consistent right from the start which leads to thrilling/emotional finale.
Visuals were super cool. Thanos da man stole the show with his emotional side as well which was surprising went with flow without interrupting the proceedings.
For me none of the characters were wasted. Each and every character had their bit to do and they were amazing in it. This is how movies should be exciting/thrilling/edge-of-the-seat/emotional/funny and whatnot.
Eagerly waiting for the next part!

Today was better than yesterday for AIW in Bangalore.
Right from morning till night shows bookings were excellent. Morning occupancies were close to 60-70% on average which is double of yesterdays morning shows. 11AM - 9PM ruled roost most of them going full.
IMAX continued its amazing run today as well. 20/20 fulls till date and from day 1 its 100/100 fulls!!! Tomorrow im expecting a break in this count. Maybe 17-18 shows full. Hope audiences prove me wrong.
4DX - 8/8 fulls from 2 theaters

While that's true Friday is one of the lowest weekdays in Japan so it usually doesn't burn that much demand. A few weeks ago a local franchise released annually broke its 2 day OW despite opening on a Friday for the first time in over 20 years.
And it makes even less sense to compare F-S to S-S and say it opened higher.
You mean detective conan? I guess it had to do with the movies popularity. Marvel or as a matter of fact none of the SH movies are a rage in Japan. Gone are the days when action movies did well in Japan.
Detective Conan is a established franchisee with a wide range of demographics. This might have been a reason for its record breaking OW inspite of opening on friday.

AIW opened on Friday while Ultron opened on Saturday. On the 2 day weekend frame AIW is behind Ultron.
Since AIW opened on Friday it has already burned some demand whereas Ultrons 1st day was a saturday which was its OD, Holiday and numbers are high.

Russia would be a prime candidate for that, for some reason lol
Ultron opened to 16m and barely had legs. It ended up grossing 34m thats fine considering Russia is a front loaded market. Do you think AIW would open lesser than AoU? Is ER that bad?
4 minutes ago, Taruseth said:The question is in which regard 'underperformed'?
Relatively to expectations, I think it overperformed everywhere.
Relatively to Superhero movies, it overperformed everywhere (apart from Japan and Germany and France to a certain degree as it isn't the highest Superhero opening in these three)
Relatively to other Gigantic-Blockbusters (Basically again Japan, Germany and France
and probably to a certain Degree other parts of Europe, though I am not sure about that)
Well....it would be dumb if i'd say on basis of comparison with AoU
. But has it opened lesser than ultron in any market?
I dont think so. Overall i think AIW has overperformed everywhere.

Since AIW has broken records in most of the countries. Im curious to know if it has underperformed anywhere

Will this means the indian market is now becoming more and more open to hollywood films?
Indian box office always get me confused with their net and rental crore, in different local languages from various region....I really need some Indian market expert to explain all those difference.... I always feel we understate the greatness of indian market because the market is still adopting studio/distribution divide.(just like japan pre-2000)
Like just how much baahubali 2 earned in india alone? 17b INR meaning USD250m+ but mojo stated USD110m only...
BB2 is a Telugu film which released in Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam. Mojo is reporting only Hindi version gross which is around 110m....700cr+.
If you include Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam these 3 versions add 104m while it grossed 36m from OS markets (all languages).
So Indian figs are as follows:
Hindi - 110M
Telugu - 60M
Tamil - 30M
Malayalam - 14M
BB2 official figure currently shud have increased a bit more OS as it released in quite a few markets like Japan.
Yes there is always confusion with Indian BO collections.
Hindi - Mostly Nett
Tamil - Gross
Telugu - Share
Malayalam - Gross
Indian Market is bigger than we think Average Ticket Prices are less due to which grosses tend to look small but if u consider footfalls then you will get the real picture.

BP is definitely worth the hype but not the best MCU movie in recent times. Id give that to Thor:Ragnarok.
But the problem here is BP neither bends towards one of the best knor a one time watch (Marvel can never go wrong).
It has very tight screenplay even though a few scenes were kinda slow and sluggish. Story was routine nothing new and Michael B Jordan's fucked up performance was way over the top. But Boseman and others screen presence makes it up.
Coogler did a good job though not upto the range of his previous movies. Look out for this guy he's gonna be huge someday!
In spite of all these mess Marvel once again doesn't disappoint me as it entertained me. That's what matters end of the day. I remember watching SM:H and there was a void and i felt after a long time Marvel has disappointed me.
Thats the best part of Marvel. They entertain you.

Hyderabad had an IMAX screen called Prasads which was one of the largest in the world. But unfortunately their projection is not IMAX anymore. Its 3D only. Its a 650 seater and AIW has gone crazy here with 5 shows.
Friday to Tuesday (5 days) 25/25 fulls with record breaking PS. Wednesday already has 1/5 fulls rest of shows being 80-90% full.
650*5days=3250 people watch AIW per day at this plex.
Since 5 days are completely sold out. By "Tuesday Night" 16250 people would have watched AIW in this screen alone!
Chennai
Day 2 was similar to day 1 with most of the shows going full like Bangalore barring few. Day 3 looks very strong with morning to evening all of them are either full or almost full. Night shows usually take a hit but AIW is an exception as it has strong PS.
Chennai has 1 IMAX screen. 15/15 fulls (Fri-Sun)
Monday - 4/4 fulls
Tuesday - 1/5 fulls
Wednesday and Thursday 70-80% full already.

IMAX 20/20 Fulls today. Same situation tomorrow as well with PS.
Monday as of now 8/20 fulls
Tuesday 7/20 fulls
3D version was pretty similar to day 1 except morning shows in handful no of plexes recorded 70-80%. PS looks very good for tomorrow in Bangalore. 242 HF shows today overall out of 250.
Single screens picked up very well. Traditional screens stayed flat by recording HF or similar occupancies. Non traditional showed real growth from matinee shows.

CW Crawley looking busy as hell tonight and tomorrow. All 2D sold out until 6pm tomorrow, and all others are nearly full. 3D not quite as much, although will fill up with walkups. They really need more showings!
2D doing better than 3D?

We can decide based on today's numbers and how it holds on Friday. AIW has no competition apart from a telugu biggie down south which will affect its show & screen in 2 states.
