i don't know why you wouldn't classify thor ragnarok as a comedy.
I’d say it’s more qualified than Mamma Mia 2.

Just give me that 80 million weekend.
As long as it takes the record from Venom, I’ll be satisfied.

Great numbers for Blumhouse production
Still strange how Scre4m bombed so hard
Still one of my biggest BO disappointments. I was so hyped for a 50M+ OW. As for Halloween though

Scary Movie’s run is still mind boggling to me.

Movie should have had that Hawkeye cameo. 125M + OW confirmed.

That GIF doesn't work when the opening is so low (pending actuals)...
It works when for the most part the rest of their year makes up for it.

Still a great number. I kept my expectations in the mid 70s and I’m happy it’s beating them.

This is pretty damn funny....please have a watch!
Watching this interview live and knowing it wasn’t him with her being oblivious is still one of the funniest things.

Not sure whether I should go with Hereditary or Oceans 8 this weekend.

Star Wars is done. Hopefully this doesn't tarnish the first three films too much.
Now we can only hope the same fate befalls Marvel.
No matter what your opinion is on the new movies it’s ridiculous to say they could tarnish the first three films. They’re still the same exact movies. And on the Marvel thing yeah let’s hope something millions enjoy fails because it’s not for me.

When it comes to TLJ I’d much rather we follow Rose’s sister than her. In her short screen time she seemed like a way better character.

Why is it okay for these boards to root against certain films but not films made by Disney? I wish people were against rooting against any film to fail just so that they wouldn't be so darn hypocritical right now.
I honestly don’t root for any film to fail. Even if it’s something that I don’t enjoy or truly hate. I may joke about a film’s underperformance but that doesn’t mean I wanted it to fail.

I saw plenty of posters being pretty confident that IW could topple it after it broke the OW record.
True. But there was still some more reserved and cautious posters as well.

BP vs IW is basically like TA vs TDKR. Tons of posters on here just assumed whatever the underdog movies(BP and TA) did, the favorites would just do more. Sorry but that's not how box office works
Pretty sure the general consensus around here after BP’s opening and legs was that IW beating it would be a challenge.

Just finished watching ANH after watching Solo earlier tonight and I will admit watching them back to back was a little jarring.

I’m also kind of sad now we probably won’t get a Solo 2 now. Not too sad though, as there’s plenty of other things I’d still rather see Disney do with Star Wars that goes beyond the Skywalker era.
I’d had been really upset if we got Solo 2 before Obi-Wan. No matter how Solo turned out.
-
Just saw another one of these “The summer belongs to Solo” commercials and in hindsight it’s pretty hilarious. At least Deadpool 2 called itself the second biggest event of the summer.

Ted 2 was complete ass, that’s why it failed. Not to mention most comedy sequels suck.
It was better than a lot of modern comedy sequels (might not be saying much). It met my expectations.
