I don't think thats wrong, it seems pretty blatant that after like 16 films that are all the same only 1 stands out as being even slightly different. There is no creativity at all, that's exactly why they have been successful.

I never have and never will understand this criticism. Yes there are going to be similarities (I mean they are the same genre) but to say for example Iron Man, The Winter Soldier, and Thor: Ragnarok are practically the same is crazy.

I am most interested to see how all of this affects Deadpool 2 at this point.

On one hand you could say that the huge popularity of Thanos as a villain will help the movie having Brolin as Cable.

On the other hand, you could say with the potential that the movie will be very hard to replicate the success of the first movie and potentially poorly reviewd, having Brolin likely giving an inferior performance comparatively could lead people to avoid Deadpool 2 having watched something even better recently.

Haven't really dug into it yet, but should be interesting to see what happens.  My initial thought is it will be somewhat weird for people and there will be slight fatigue and poorer reviews will lead to quite a decrease for Deadpool 2.

    Either way win-win for Brolin.

Yeah but it was still better than his leprechaun Movie 43 skit (if that’s what you want to call it).

I hope no one is expecting Ant-Man and the Wasp to do mega business, it'll be a solid hit closer to say Doctor Strange but I think Marvel are deliberately making it of a more low key event much like the first film, more of an appetiser than a main course.

Hell the fact that a movie with Ant-Man is looking at over a 70M+ OW shows how strong the Marvel brand is.

Isn't the concept of Mother's Day to spend time with your mom?  I imagine that if MD didn't exist, then it would've had an even weaker drop.  This isn't a perfect comparison, but Criminal, which is the exact opposite of a Mother's Day film, only dropped 7.7% on that day despite having much larger drops in its previous weeks of release

Yeah but look at the type of films that increased.  .

ahh yes that three year period where they really really tried to make Joseph Gordon Levitt happen. that moment was killed by the bike movie i think.

There's a lot of fancasts for him as Stan in IT: Chapter 2.

In terms of 'could have been', Cranston was originally planned to either be a recast Ross or take Ross' place in the story in Civil War. There's even concept art that's very clearly him.

I'm still wanting him for Norman Osborne so glad he wasn't wasted here.

If you guys are trying to paint me out as someone who doesn't want it to get the record, you are wrong.  I loved the film but my like or dislike of it has nothing to do with it.  I'm using historical data and some logic.  I still think  it tops out at 235-240.

Exactly. There's a difference between wanting the film to fail and keeping realistic expectations.

Watched Rampage tonight to a surprised full house. That movie is pretty damn fun. Didn't find Rock distracting so that was good... All the monsters were badass, but George obviously stole the show.

Government Negan stole it for me.
