I had a solo at XXX Return of Xander Cage.
Incredibly I did NOT have a solo at Collide. One other dude walked in before it started. Absolutely massive auditorium. Was super weird.
Just seems to me that the first half of the month HAS to be big for it to be a big month overall. How many big films are ever scheduled in the last half? Some outliers, but very few usually.
That could get them to 40m, as it should still play pretty family friendly on Saturday.
Ghost in the Shell may be the first major casualty of the month next week. If not, this March will be one for the record books even more than what it already is.
Great movie. That and the first PotC were both great, and the rest in both franchises were all varying degrees of not-great.
I'm really interested to see how the 5th installments of each do this summer. I think they are both fading fast.
Eh, you're probably right.
But Logan's true Fri-Sat bump last week was over 33%, and you gotta assume that it was more frontloaded than this. A 33% increase gets this to 22 today. A little more might be possible, maybe 24.
Didn't mean it as a Depp thing, more of just an unwanted sequel I guess. The last Pirates movie was not exactly loved by GA. And its been a good long while.
At the end of the day, I think it will probably still do 200, but I think there's a chance it does much worse. Overseas totally different story. I'm sure it will clean up globally.
Exactly. Everyone has skin in the game in March. They all figured someone would take a hit, but hoped it wouldn't be them.
No one felt confident enough to go up against even a diminished F8. Lets be honest, even if F8 drops a third of its audience, it will be the second biggest film of the year (presumably) up to that point after BatB.
