if anyone could join we all would have joined by now
Yeah, I tried emailing them once for some BO info and they rejected me. They're very prompt in replying though.
*out of topic but you know GG? lol

FX has secured the rights to Jurassic World for TV
Perhaps an extended version ;-)
could only hope
https://www.yahoo.com/tv/s/jurassic-world-tv-debut-fx-201936368.html
I hope the limited edition bluray has an extended version of the movie. It looks too awesome not to get any more bonuses!

Dude, where's Inside Out on these? Tsk tsk.
It won't be there for some more weeks or ever lol, unless it reaches 350m+ or 400m+. Look at the totals of every movie.

I'd say 90m domestic and $90m OS from current markets.
It's going to earn at the very least $40m this week(including weekends) so I think it's going to earn higher than just 90m more.
-
I hope JW gets back those 2m(or more) in its international actuals. Anyway congrats to IO for finally getting that top spot. I wonder if both are going to have low drops throughout this week due to the horrible independence day weekend.
-
Fixed
It's not no.1 in America and some other markets so no it's not the number one movie in the world, unless that was sarcasm.

9 for IO and JW based on their respective performances today. I see IO winning the weekend now.
Terminator isn't far behind either (probably 8.5).
The GREAT news is that Magic Mike is up 70% from Saturday grosses. CUE PONY
So both IO and JW might actually go down in actuals? Well that's a first.

I have a feeling Cameron is going to want to end his career with something other than Terminator or Avatar.
But I'm not sure what his motive is for wasting so much time on Avatar. It's not like he needs the money and you can't tell me he would agree to three sequels under normal circumstances.
He probably had a story already thought of when he made Avatar and ideas kept pouring in after the film got released. He wants to do it because he wants to satisfy his artistic endeavors. If a creative person thinks of a story that he wants to tell, that person will not stop until he does, and being a perfectionist and not to mention having the money and resources to do it I don't think Jim is going to let anything stop him from finishing it.

Ah, should've known. Though I have to say I think JW's reign is more impressive because it has done it in the heart of summer. TDK came out at the end of July and was kinda the last big blockbuster for the season.
Also it had very little competition back then too for more than 1 month. Tropic Thunder was the only competition it had and it wasn't even that big. Even after 2 months TDK was the still biggest release lol. Kinda wondering how much more JW could have earned if it had less competition.

Nope, came first its 4th, 5th, and 6th weekends amazingly, despite falling to 2nd in its 2nd and 3rd. 4 non-consecutive weeks at #1.

Oh missed that. lol. They added more theaters on its 5th weekend. I wish Universal would add more to JW eventually too.
-
Glad JW eked it out again. Now IO can be the highest grossing non-#1 movie, and the first 300 one as well. Also, when was our last summer movie to do 4 weekends in a row? I know TA and GotG got 3 in a row, but not 4.
GOTG only got 2 weekends at number one consecutively. It was 2nd on its second, 3rd and 4th weekend but first on its fifth and sixth.

Yes, but only if actuals don't switch the ranking around.
Both will most likely go up in actuals but which will go higher is the question lol.
-
That is an amazing hold! Wow.
Actuals might even be higher as usual.
-
Disney live-action films as well. Maleficent and Cinderella were huge in Japan.
And dinosaurs. JP3 made more than 40m in Japan(Jp1 earned 120m). But that was long ago. I wonder if JW will do huge numbers.

Skipped the last 7 pages, but I'm curious why everyone thinks that IO, the more matinee driven of the two, will drop harder than JW when most theaters will be slow from 4pm on?
Based from the past weekends performances. JW has always had the lesser drops. But then again, its the independence day weekend so it could be different this time.
-
With China you'll never know
It's not yet planned to release on China.
-
I hope JW can slightly win the weekend. IO needs to take the record from MBFGW.
It might if it continues to have small drops in the weekends.
-
Um, it'll drop less than JW tomorrow, so I think it's fine...
But JW always had the smaller drop and the highest increase compared to IO during weekends. But then again, this is another kind of weekend with the fourth of July.

9 o'clock on Friday night and still no Friday/weekend thread?

I know shitting on BOM is like beating a dead horse now, but they still have estimates for Thursday numbers at Friday 9pm EST.
That's because no one has actuals for Thursday yet. lol
-
My data has JW and IO a smidge under their matinees from last Friday. 13 is the floor for both. Terminator isn't far behind JW either.
So that means both JW and IO will have 30m+ totals for the 3 day weekend, right?
-
Still, Inside Out has a better chance of taking the top spot at the box office this weekend now.
Not surprising as JW is already at its 4th weekend. Will be phenomenal if it manages to take top spot again, though.
-
That's better then okay for IO, that's great.
Great for both but even better for JW as it got the highest increase.
-
As the year progresses, people will realize what kind of freak of nature FF7 ( China Number ! does great everywhere else) & JW ( Crazy US run, does great everywhere else) were.
Ultron did amazing as well.
And then, biiiiiiiiig gap, number 4 is at 569m WW.
The top 5 is so weird :
1 Furious 7 Uni. $1,511.6 $351.0 23.2% $1,160.6 76.8% 2 Avengers: Age of Ultron BV $1,372.1 $453.0 33.0% $919.1 67.0% 3 Jurassic World Uni. $1,259.9 $514.4 40.8% $745.5 59.2% 4 Fifty Shades of Grey Uni. $569.7 $166.2 29.2% $403.5 70.8% 5 Cinderella (2015) BV $539.0 $200.3 37.2% $338.7 62.8%
JW is actually at $1,290,797,932 already while Ultron is at $1,380,594,778. JW will most likely pass Ultron this week!
Weekend Actuals 7/3-7/5: Inside Out 29.77M, JW 29.24M, Genisys 27.02M. Greek Wedding's record survives
in Numbers and Data

I want that to happen but I think that's too high of an increase for friday. I think a 60% increase would be a safer bet.
