I said it had no right to jump so high if we go by past movies of the MCU. Is that wrong? And I never said it was impossible or not possible. I never close the door too soon.

And I have recently been reading through the Jurassic World OW thread and I must say that movie was really underestimated and underpredicted even after it's friday numbers was said to be in the 80s, some people thought TDKR opening weekend was the best.

This is what makes the Saturday jump weird to me. It didn't do that much on Friday to prove or foreshadow that it was going to have such a huge jump.

I am not saying he is wrong or it can't do that, but it's very unlike the previous movies that have come before it in the MCU. They are well known for their strong Saturdays, but this is the territory of family animation Saturday jump.

It's more likely because it has happened before with other MCU movies. But I haven't seen a single movie so far do 90% + jump on a Saturday. Now looking at the large openers of the MCU above 170m+ OW, the only movie to have made over 80% jump on Saturday is BP.

Yeah, context and wide angle view analysis of numbers matters, as you perfectly demonstrate with Detective Pikachu and and to a large degree Edgame.

So what IW also jumped 75% this weekend but never did over that amount again in it's run (correct me if I am wrong). Even BP which had one of the best Saturday jumps among the MCU never did more than 84%-85%.

Come on that's like 95%-96% increase if that's for EG, and it has no right jumping that high. I think the 11m makes much more sense than this. Which is 48% increase. Has any MCU movie ever jumped that high before. Over 90% on a Saturday.
