After Black Panther, there is a sizable jump in the point totals.  I feel like it's safe enough to go ahead and reveal the 51-100 portion of the list.

    51.    Man of Steel
    52.    Kingsman: The Secret Service
    53.    The Death of Stalin
    54.    Hellboy 2: The Golden Army
    55.    Kick-Ass
    56.    Avengers: Age of Ultron
    57.    Big Hero 6
    58.    Aquaman
    59.    X-Men (2000)
    60.    Batman (1966)
    61.    Doctor Strange
    62.    300
    63.    Ant-Man
    64.    Thor

    69.    The Crow
    70.    The Rocketeer
    71.    Batman v Superman
    72.    Josie and the Pussycats
    73.    Only Yesterday
    74.    The Incredible Hulk
    75.    Hellboy

    76.    Mystery Men

    76.    A Silent Voice
    77.    The Adventures of Tintin
    78.    Mystery Men
    79.    Blade 2
    80.    In This Corner of the World

    83.    Porco Russo
    84.    The Peanuts Movie
    85.    Blue is the Warmest Color
    86.    X-Men: Apocalypse
    87.    Hulk (2003)
    88.    Dragonball: Evolutions
    89.    American Splendor
    90.    Lady Snowblood
    91.    Green Lantern
    92.    We Are the Best!
    93.    Howard the Duck
    94.    Daredevil
    95.    Spider-Man 3

I thought Edge of Tomorrow wasn't eligible. I voted for it (giving an alternative 31) but I think many people didn't because it was said that it was based on a novel, not a manga.

Everyone knows you can't have 50 or 100 good comic book movies.

    /s?

I'm actually a huge CBM fan, and was surprised at how hard it was to fill the list with 30 movies I found really good. I mean, I wouldn't really think Thor: The Dark World would make it, but it was the only thing I could fill the last spot with.

Though I just remembered The Dark Knight Rises, which would have been above Thor 2. Also, I don't remember the original spider-man trilogy well enough to include any of them.

I mean to put it in to perspective Incredibles 2 opened to 25.8m lc, end went on to be the 2nd highest movie off all time (at that time). Now nr 3 because of EG obviously.

If TS4 could match the multi from I2 it would get 210m lc, that would be insane. Actuals probably go up a bit, so expect 38m lc 😛

That said don't expect a crazy 5.65 multi like I2 had but over 4 is easly doable. So anything over 150m is great for TS4, it has a good shot at I2.

Where do you get that info?

  6. This is a review posted to Endgame on Rotten Tomatoes:

    April 29, 2019

While it doesn't take too many chances with its narrative, it's still an appealing tale... It's a nice showcase for Fanning's talents -- she sings, and speaks Polish! -- and proof of concept for Minghella as a director.

Obviously this is amazing.  However, Infinity War had a better Monday drop than the Avengers, so I'm not sold on this being reflective of legs.  OTOH, this would be a significantly better Monday drop.

    Endgame: 58-55.7%

    Infinity War: 64.3%

    The Avengers: 66.9%

    AoU: 73.7%

    GotG2: 74.8%

Still, its pretty clear that the Monday drop has a lot more to do with spillover than long term multi, so we should probably see how it plays out over the week.

Stop being reasonable. 1.2B DOM locked!

If Endgame opens to around 300m it's going to dethrone SW:TFA as the movie with the highest number of all time records at BOM.

Currently TFA has 32, and Infinity War 11.

It's going to get all of IW's records, plus 10-16 of TFA (Opening day, Single day, Opening Friday, Fastest to 100m, 300m, 350m, possibly 400m and 450m, 4-day gross, 5-day gross, possibly 6, 7 and 8 day gross, possibly opening week, Opening Avg, Overall Avg), foreign opening, widest release and opening, widest release and opening pg-13, weekend market share.

So, 28-34 records, while TFA would drop to 16-22, and Infinity War would disappear of the chart.

I kind of hope that Infinity War could keep at least one, like largest saturday, so that it still has a record for some time.

Made this post before we had any numbers for the weekend. So, Endgame is guaranteed to take all the maybes that I pointed, plus fastest to 500M, 9 and 10 day gross, and possibly second weekend, dom total, pg-13 dom total and worldwide total.

    Total of 37-41 records.

  9. The tire Friday and Saturday numbers in relation to previous records are really mind-boggling.

I thought that the largest potential for increase from IW was in previews, since IW's were 18 million lower than the record. But it actually increased more on both Friday and Saturday. While the Saturday for IW was already had a bizarrely higher than the previous record. The third highest Saturday is an absurd 40m lower than Engame's. Sunday looking to be almost 40m higher than 3rd place as well.

  10. 7 minutes ago, TalismanRing said:

109... with the same 15.7% Sunday drop as AIW it would give us a $91.887 Sunday and a $357.587 w/e

So, do you think the fact that it's True Friday/Sat jump is lower than IW means it's having slightly worse legs (in which case we might expect a bigger drop on Sunday) or, that it simply is so filled that it couldn't possibly make more on Saturday, and so we should expect a lower Sunday drop due to spillover?

I know that a lot of these comparables have extremes to them, due to the varied times of the year they came out and all..... but this is Endgame, so we're throwing out logic out the window and applying every comparable here. Soooooo basically it needs to perform better than Black Panther, a President's Day 4-day frame opener, to get to 400, so it's time to get off that horse  However, should it follow just about half of the MCU (including even a lot of the bigger openers, including Infinity War), it's likelier than not to beat the previous OW record by 100M. Insane.

Nice work. What other movie is closest to it in Previews/Friday Ratio?

  12. 3 minutes ago, Charlie Jatinder said:

I am genuinely worried about the early estimate because the number that will give, I don't know if is even possible.

Okay, if after a true Friday of 99m you can't believe the Saturday number, we're seeing the OW record go down on a Saturday! Unbelievable
