Lol you are a Star Wars fanboy with nothing negative to say about TFA & all your personal friends are backing you up. I know exactly what bias means thanks though. Greatest film of all time? LMAO.

My thoughts exactly. The movie was good at best. It's only getting hype because it's a sequel to ROTJ and people are viewing it with rose tinted glasses. The movie has huge flaws. Napoleon Dynamite...... I mean Ren was a garbage villain the moment he unmasked. Rey defeating him with no training is lol worthy and it's horrible/lazy writing. I don't care if she is possibly Lukes daughter.

Avatar did 760M so I guess it is still possible for it to do at least 160M more :redcapes:

Yeah but Avatar took a long time to do that. By the time it made it to 600m, it slowed down. This is at 600m and going on as if it just opened, doesn't make sense. At some point, there's overlap with fans of popular films. For example,  I like Star Wars, Avatar, JP series, Batman, Superman, Spiderman, etc. I contributed to the BO run of the movies from those series. To outgross everything as fast as it did and not be frontloaded, I'm guessing SW just appeals to a  lot more people that don't go to see other series. Either that or the population doubled.

The Power of the Old Cast is what's selling this.. STAR WARS will always be Han Solo and Luke Skywalker and Leia and that's what people want to see.. This was the only way to go after the Prequels and without the Old Cast, the New Cast wouldn't have been able to pull in numbers like this.. It's true.. This is what we should've gotten back in 1999 and didn't...

I realize the old cast helped here, but with so much saturation at 600m, who hasn't seen this yet? What I'm getting at is how can it do 27m on its second Wednesday , a number most blockbusters can't get on its first Monday. Is the series just that popular? Maybe the amount of money the prequels made masked the popularity of it.

  4. 27 million Wednesday? In all seriousness, how is it that this movie isn't slowing down. I mean it's already made over 600 mil, just about what JW and TA made LTD in 12 freaking days . Is this hold coming from the fact that Star Wars has more fans, are grossing numbers a complete lie, are people that usually don't go to the movies watching this, did the population double, are fanboys  going broke seeing it 20 times? This type of run doesn't make sense, what do you guys think is putting this head and shoulders above other blockbusters?

    Watch the insults there bub.

You see Sage, I can deal with the Kal's and the haters and the trolls.  I don't want everyone to like it and I don't want a Rotten Tomatoes score of 100.  What I do want is for you to stand there on your high and mighty soapbox and with your filthy uneducated mouth to extend the film and those who love it some fucking courtesy.  You gotta give it props and do it nicely.

That wasn't directly meant for the posters on this board. No need for direct insults. I stand by my opinion though, movies with weak villains don't deserve top grossing ever. If the fans loved it that much despite its huge flaws, then I guess it's the movie they deserve.

  6. 30 million on Monday? Okay, is this crap ever gonna slow down. Diehard fanboys are going broke seeing this 30 times. What losers:huh: Theres only 3 movies in history thats done over 600 mil, and this undeserving tripe does it in 12 days. Star Wars fans lmao. Don't care what no one says, this movie wasn't THAT good.

Seriously, by the standards of Frozen and Harspoke, who HAS had an onscreen death in a movie lately? Outside of Marion Cottliard's horrific death in TDKR, I can barely think of any examples of major characters in blockbuster films having concrete, definitive death scenes by this ridiculous standard. He got stabbed through the heart with a lightsaber. He's deader than dead.

Though I will say, debating whether Han is dead is 100000000x times better than listening to people complain about how "weak" Kylo Ren looked without his mask.

Why?it's completely valid. I'm surprised more people don't bring it up.  Kylo fell apart for me after that happened. A very weak villain.

lI can't believe some of you can't comprehend that there is more to Rey than what they show.

I can't believe you want the whole story told to you in paint by numbers

I can't believe you don't get that they give you plenty of hints in the movie that she was trained as a Jedi before.

I can't believe some of you come off as being so weak minded.

It's brilliant writing.  Maybe it just went over your head sagemodel.  Did Kathleen Kennedy screw your dad and split up your family?

Look, it was a good movie, but it had flaws. Just because I don't make excuses for bad writing doesn't mean I'm hating. Kylo is overexposed at this point and he's uninteresting unless major changes come his way.

Here we go again for the 2983057th time.

Ren himself was not fully trained.

    Ren was seriously injured.

Ren was a current emotional/mental basket case.

    Ren was holding back.

Ren possessed an innate fear of Rey that caused him to slip up and crumble when she began Full Force Mode.

Ren will not have any of those disadvantages the next time they face off.

Here we go again? It's a perfect complaint about the movie. Even if there was an explanation, which there is not, a villain is supposed to look strong until the end. Rey should've lost the fight, we're supposed to anticipate her growth, not Rens. Ren not fully trained? Rey just picked up a lightsaber for crying out loud. He was trained by Luke and his master. If we're not supposed to believe he's strong, why the hell is he leading a fleet of stormtroopers. No way he should've lost to someone who picked up a lightsaber for the first time. It's bad writing no matter how you cut it. Fans always make an excuse for this. Kylo is just a crap villain, couldn't take him serious anymore after he took off the mask. Speaking of which, the unmasking was way too casual and he looks like David Schwimmer from FRIENDS. Terrible villain.

And this one when it hits 1B domestic

What's boring about this thread is that it seems possible. This movie seems to have everyone hypnotized to see it and it's nothing special or groundbreaking. I don't know if fanboys are watching it 20 times or if it's actually attracting viewers that other movies just don't get. You'd think the US population doubled or something. Don't get why it's basically doing Hunger Games CF numbers in a single week, but whatever. Seems like there's no slowing down which is asinine during this time of year.
